Even though Malcolm had made some good points on other matters (sociology/psychology) in her book, I don't think I agree with her views on the issues of journalism. I wasn't particularly interested in the MacDonald murder case. Personally, I don't think there is a lot that one can learn from it. And when one can't do that, the crime is just used as a 'spectacle' to the public when it is being publicised in the ways that MacDonald's case was.Macdonald had considered McGinnis a friend after he was invited behind the scenes with him and his defence team ahead of the murder trial. a b c d Seelye, Katharine Q.
