About this deal

Although it has been done to give each their own characteristics, as I come from a more rural than urban environment I thought it portrayed the locals as having a more insular outlook than the urban characters. DCI Lesley Clarke has promised her new wife that their Scottish honeymoon won’t be spoiled by murder investigations. Detective Chief Inspector Jez Noyce, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), told the Daily Echo: “We will continue to thoroughly investigate any new lines of enquiry that emerge and all unsolved murder cases where there are no active lines of enquiry will still be subject to periodic reviews by Dorset Police. It is evident that Hill, a tailor and a possible suitor of the servant Agnes Beard, did not carry out the crime alone. Growing up, reading is something she always loved doing and particularly had a love for novels written at breakneck pace.

A man was charged and faced trial 18 years later but was acquitted by a jury at Winchester Crown Court.

At the start of the series, she is introduced as having been injured in a bombing incident in Birmingham and now rumors abound that she is afflicted with PTSD, among other mental issues. She's being pulled in all directions, being g told to do one thing but knowing they want her to do something else. Meanwhile, one of Lesley's team has been arrested, accused of murdering his former boss, but Lesley is convinced he hi innocent. Several murders and unremitting suspense later Leslie's team solved the case with the help of DCI Zoé Finch who took over the Birmingham Team when Leslie was transferred to Dorset.BEATRICE WILSON: In July 2000, 74-year-old grandmother Beatrice Wilson was stabbed at least 10 times as she lay defenceless on her bed in sheltered accommodation at Millfield, Creekmoor. This title of the Dorset Crime series is finally the one where things gain momentum concerning the DCI Mackie murder investigation. Having been seriously injured by a bomb in Birmingham, DCI Lesuses Clarke had the choice of retiring or moving to a quieter patch.

And another gripe: this is the 8th novel in the Dorset series, all 8 with an underlying mystery about the death of DCI Mackie, DCI Lesley Clarke's predecessor. Local author Roger Evans re-tells some of these gripping and ghostly stories, beginning with Martha Brown, who took an axe to her philandering and drunken husband John, Her public execution was witnessed by Thomas Hardy, the famous Dorset author who could never get the sight out of his head of her swinging back and forth in misty rain. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. First time I've read anything by this author but now I'm going to read the DO Finch series and I can't wait. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. There is a lot of domestic drama woven in, many thing to help complicate it, and it ends up with a pretty mind-blowing ending.
