For a "Used" product the 130 Mechanical Timeswitch is good value, it was easily fitted and for the short time it has been in use it has been reliable. Next, what 'more accurate on off' can the 140 give over the 120 - sorry I don't understand that either. Our basic boiler control allows you to adjust the heating programme by choosing when you would like your system to switch it on or off and how long you would like it to operate for.I bought a new timer (easy fit), which seemed to work for a while but now stops whenever it changes from on to off, but perfectly ok when moved manually! The manual timer switch (looks like a Vaillant timeswitch 130) on my 3 yr old boiler (ecoTEC plus 831) is not working anymore - it has possibly been forced anti clockwise. Flexible heating control – the device let’s you set the time you’d like your heating to switch on and off each day, with up to 48 on/off times. The heating will engage/disengage if I move the time on manually or just switch to always on but the clock itself seems to have 'stopped'.

I would like to understand if I would have much benefits from upgrading to a digital version vs the manual timer. Also, pls tell me why I would want to 'time the hot water pre-heat' - I don't understand this bit as my boiler gives instant hot water anyway as it is a combi boiler. The 4 pin connection on the rear of the timeswitch was the wrong connector for our Vaillant boiler - even though it was advertised as fits all.

Pls advise me how much I should expect to pay for the 140 switch - is this something that you can source and sell to me? We are proud of the quality of our refurbished parts and they come with 12 months replacement warranty. The 140, being digital, offers the ability to accurately enter on/off times in minutes, whereas the 130 being mechanical is probably only accurate to around 10/15 minutes. If so any suggestions, along with added functionalities the alternatives provide over the current timer.
