In any case, if you like some brawling action, Streets of Rage 4 is undoubtedly one of the best couch co-op games on Xbox Series X/S. You’ll play as one of several character classes, each with their own abilities and skills. The Slayer, for example, dual-wields two axes for up-close-and-personal damage. And the Witch Hunter can switch between melee weapons and guns for truly varied combat. Whichever character you choose though, you’ll have a lot of fun in this dungeon crawler, making your way through various environments and killing hordes of enemies. And of course, finding plenty of loot. Up to four players can play together, making this one of the best couch co-op games on Xbox Series X/S.

Many of these will be all but impossible for normal players due to their focus on specific conditions in online games. What is, then? Well, problem one is that the basic racing isn’t necessarily the focus here. Instead, Codemasters seems to have spent a lot of its resources on a battle mode, complete with deathmatch, control point, capture the flag and bomb delivery game styles. Each vehicle has its own feel and its own set of three capabilities, some offensive, some defensive, some healing. Missiles are launched, turrets deployed and helicopters sent to harass your opponents. The different craft seem well-balanced, with each supporting different styles of play.
