Once the earbuds are in pairing mode, the next steps involve connecting them to your device. Below is how you can complete this process on different operating systems. One thing you’ll notice about the Skullcandy Indy true wireless Evo earphones, is that they come with 3 EQ modes to choose from. After testing these ourselves, we found that only 1 is really impressive at changing the audio quality. Today, you can buy everything from standard wired in-ear headphones, to active noise cancelling headphones with an over-ear design.
The Movies mode is the best-sounding option, and it really transforms your soundscape in a way that neither the Music nor podcast mode is capable of – that’s true whatever kind of audio you might be listening to. Connectivity is an area where Skullcandy neither excel, nor disappoint. As mentioned above, there are no fancy codecs here to improve your listening experience. The left and right earbud are NOT equivalent. If you get out of range of the right earbud, you will start hearing connectivity issues. However, once you are completely out of range, the left takes over as the driver and quality is fine. This leads me to think that left and right have different profiles (and 7.1 may be an issue of left/right passing off to one another).The Indy Evo have three different EQ modes but, after testing them all extensively, I found two of them to be pretty much redundant.
First, ensure that both buds are charged . Next, place them in the case and ensure the LEDs light red. Open the Settings menu [Settings] on the Android, head to Bluetooth Settings [Bluetooth] and select your headphones [ Indy Evo] from the list. You will know they have paired with each other when they play a tone, and only the left earbud flashes red and blue. Note : If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain the correct sound qualities or call performance. Your default EQ setting is 'Music Mode', optimized for bringing out the best sound in music as well great for general listening. You can activate the feature by pairing the source device to the earbuds using the pairing procedure described above. You can turn off solo mode by taking the earbud out of the case. It will automatically reconnect to the other earbud, and you can continue using both of them. If the earbuds were previously connected to a device, they would reconnect to that device when you turn them on. That is on the condition that the device has its Bluetooth turned on and is near the earbuds.Remove them from the case to automatically power them on . The earbuds will start flashing blue as a sign that they are pairing with each other before they can be available for pairing to the source device. It's annoying, but I recognize it happening at this point, so I know how to deal with it. I'm pretty sure this is Android restarting the Bluetooth service, as it seems to happen more often when my phone is running low on storage.
While paired, you simply touch the LEFT or RIGHT bud 2x and hold for 2 seconds, you will then hear a voice prompt notifying you each time it changes to a new preset EQ. You will cycle through the EQ modes each time you complete the touch 2x and hold for 2 seconds action. The 3 modes are Music Mode, Podcast Mode, and Movie Mode. One of my biggest pet peeves with them as a company has been product lifespan, as their wired headphones always seemed very fragile. Figured I'd take a chance on the wireless, and this is my first time owning bluetooth headphones. The sound quality is pretty insane considering the price and the fact that these headphones came out over 3 years ago
