And this is where this last volume of the series loses some points from a perfect score. The gross trope that we all see too often is to separate the female lead and either make it seem like she’s been assaulted (or go through with the disgusting act). To attempt to ruin her in the eyes of her loved ones, the narrative branches into the ‘Fridging Female Character in Comics’ trope, and I absolutely hate it. But, alas, it is used to trigger the mayhem that follows Claude’s transformation. Despite this stumble, there’s plenty that I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss Volume 3does right. For example, a significant role reversal between Lilia and Aileen in a final showdown speaks wonders to being accountable for your actions and deserving of happier endings. However, it is easier said than done, as Claude distrusts her intentions. Instead of giving up, Aileen adamantly tries to win his heart by helping Claude fulfill his wish: to build peace between humankind and demonic beasts. But time is running out, and it is up to Aileen to change the course of not only her tragic ending but Claude's as well.

Actually, it's not clear at all how the story builds on or benefits from the premise. Why make her a villainess? Why reincarnate her? Why in a dating sim? Any one of those elements could have taken the story in an interesting direction if it had been treated as more than just isekai overhead. It's not difficult to imagine: an evil heiress gets dumped, tries to get even, and winds up fixing her life, and the kingdom, essentially out of spite. Or how about this: reborn into fantasy high society, an ordinary modern girl has to act the part of a notorious noblewoman or face destruction. As for being trapped in a dating sim — I mean, that one practically writes itself: it's funny when a normal person has to deal with stupid genre tropes. Unfortunately, the show delivers none of the above.

This is fun, although nothing special in its genre. I have, however, noticed that these "villainess redeemed" light novels/manga tend to fall into one of two categories: Watashi wa Akuyaku Reijou nanka ja Nai!!: Yamitsukai dakara tte Kanarazushimo Akuyaku dato Omouna yo AutoRec V01: was a pretty fun book! I mean, yes it was pretty cliche for the genre but the ML was adorable and the FL was competent and the world was interesting enough so I was filled with good feelings. true intentions from the start, greeting the Demon King with a "Marry me!", which starts, little by little, to get his attention. They get trough truble together, they avoid death flags together, and well... I don't wanna spoil even more, so it's left to you to find out more.

Not going to lie, I brought it with me to work to read during my lunch break. I have only ever done that ONCE with another NG book. THAT'S how well this one wrapped me up in it's world. I was SO SAD to hit the end, MOR MONSTER WANT MOR!) I will not forgive V03 for that horribly conceived attempted rape scene. It mutilates characters, emphasizes purity culture, and the perp gets away with it with barely a slap on the wrist. Also, this is the point where the ship started making less sense to me because there were too many heightened emotions and it does not fit with how little they actually know each other. Although we have our usual setting of the isekaied otome player in the role of the villainess, trying to avoid the rad flags and, ultimately, her fate from the game, the turn the story takes is a little bit different, with the MC trying to get the help of the majestic, incredibily handsome, and lonely Demon King. She's witty, smart, and frank; she isn't afraid to state herI laughed A LOT in that first quarter! Aileen is a very fun main character and was cheering for her right from the beginning! I loved her spunk and go-getter attitude to go ask Claude if he would marry her followed by all her antics. Deeply looking forward to seeing what she will do next and appreciate how she takes matters into her own hands. Here are the North American anime, manga, and light novel releases* for November. Coming off the energy of the second volume, I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss Volume 3 was my most anticipated manga from Yen Press this month. For such a short series of just three volumes, the creative team has done a great job making readers fall in love with these characters while also providing plenty of laughs.I’ve started a new manga series again. I’m convinced that summer is the season of manga for me, seeing as I’m lagging when it comes to reading novels. The good thing is there’s only one book out for this one. It’s a good thing because I don’t have a bunch of books to catch up on, but it’s also a terrible thing because now I’m left on a cliffhanger. I know this is having an anime soon, so my only choice is to wait for that to air… The story was not bad, it managed to tell a decent story in just 13 chapters and it didn’t feel rushed. However, the story was a little bit generic. It’s what you would expect from stories of ladies being transported into otome games, ruin to riches.
