About this deal

Berzerkers are now less expensive. But as they are a melee units with 3 move, no jump, no move through cover, I usually prefer tacticals (they have OW, they can threaten an enemy at range 2 if the enemy engages, they don't require a tech, they can be marked with Nurgle...). This achievement sounds impossible, but with the right map and a bit of strategy, it's not bad. I won with the story victory, as I felt that the Adepta Sororitas would struggle to beat all of these impossible opponents in a straight fight. Note that the enemies do not need to be on the same team!

A fair number of the achievements require winning on Impossible difficulty. After practicing a lot while trying to get the achievements, I wrote yet another guide to assist you in beating Impossible in general. Hopefully the tips are helpful in this very daunting task. That said they're also range 3 and also your only ranged unit (tactical squad range 2 damage are pitiful, like the loyalist one) until very late, which makes them a bit awkward.

The Noctilith Crown

With enough items, it can really hurt your enemy, one-hitting most units, or dealing them so much damage, your other units can finish them. Ultimately, I beat the story at around turn 90. Other than minor skirmishes, I hadn't fought the AI. Both the Necrons and the T'au had been extinguished, and the Tyranids were beating the Orks. If they have an enormous amount of units, try to play with the AI forgetting you exist in the fog of war to catch vehicles one by one, slaughter them with Daemonforge activated (or meltas if you really can't get vehicles out) and then retreat. That only works if you have enough forest/rivers/ a good amount of marks of slaanesh.

The mysterious Necron defence turrets, designated as 'Pylons' by those who originally encountered them, were first recorded on the uncharged world of WDY-272. Rising suddenly from the desert sands, the Gauss Pylons opened fire without warning and with devastating effect, tanks and armoured carriers burning as the crescent-shaped weapons tore through the unsuspecting Imperial Guard column whilst resisting all return fire. For the single-player version, I once again turned to my old buddies the Enslavers. I sent a loaded Immolater (the earliest Sororitas mechanized unit) near an enslaver, let it sit nearby until the morale was low enough, and then let the Enslavers catch it. I had two units of Retributors ready to kill the vehicle that turn, and the achievement was mine! I expanded north until I bumped into the green Chaos city. Other than the occasional isolated unit, I never saw them...they were caught in a mutual deathgrip with the Aeldari (appropriately enough). Then, I pushed west until I saw the edge of the Ork city, which was totally uninterested in me as it was under siege from the Tyranids. So, rather than restart, I switched to a strategy of researching to orbital deployment and Terminators. I built one Chaplain and one Captain, and kitted them both out in armor, weapons, and the indispensable Zoat Hide. With two Terminators, I teleported all four units to their Headquarters (after refreshing the scan). Fortunately, the city hadn’t expanded much and I was able to land just outside the city, and partially surround the building. The Chaplain is possibly the most durable unit in the game, and managed to survive five turns of concentrated fire before dying. In the meantime, a unit of Space Marines with Melta Bombs, the two Terminators, and a summoned Fortress of Redemption wore down the Headquarters until…victory! Place the Crown on the forward edge of your deployment zone, and by turn 3 you will have an invuln aura that extends to cover almost the entirity of your table half. This allows less expensive units like Cultists to have disproportionate staying power, and the notoriously unreliable Helbrute to actually become a half-decent choice. With at least a chance to remain standing for more than 1 round.

Now that the best way to play the game is saving yourself some time by removing all your targetable units from play when your turn is over, it has certainly put an emphasis on having as many units as possible in combat by the end of your turn. It's just that shooting units don't want to be in combat. Along with the multiple releases for the updated Chaos Space Marine range, we see a new terrain piece as well - the Noctilith Crown.
