As a prop, the MA-40 pretty much nails it, as much as a Nerf gun can. It's satisfyingly bulky for me (5'10 and not slender), it has the profile I remember from my days playing HALO on my original Xbox, but somewhat modernized and chunkier- probably redesigned for the new game and new console generation. The color scheme is a little flashy, but what do you expect- it's a Nerf.
