About this deal

Round 3: 1 dc in the next stitch (stitch where stitch marker is placed), 2 dc in the next sts. *1 dc in the next stitch, 2 dc in the next sts. Repeat from * till the end of the round. Do not slip stitch. (36 sts) You could probably use any combination of cotton yarn from sport to DK to aran to bulky but I’d just recommend that you hold at least 2 strands of yarn and adjust how many rounds your crochet to match the measurements of the coaster. This is the key to achieving the sturdy, macramé look or else the coaster will be a bit floppy and more like a doily.

ROUND 6: *SC 4, 2SC; rep from * until end. For ROUND 7: rep *2SC, SC 5; until end. For ROUND 8: rep *SC 6, 2SC; until end. For ROUND 9: rep *2SC, SC 7; until end etc. This crochet coaster pattern is so easy to customise and great for beginners! Simply extend the spiral to make the coaster as large or as small as you want. You could crochet boho place mats, hot pads, table mats, use it as a flower vase base mat – the options are endless! I might have gone a little crazy and made a huge range of these in a range of different sizes. If you want to increase the size of your coaster (or your gauge is slightly off) follow steps below. If you want to go on a crochet coaster making spree you can also get Dishie in a continuous 400g cone!Every time you crochet into the 1st st, remove the SM and replace the SM in the 1st st of the round. You can also use a sport/fine (2) yarn. The natural coloured coasters use WeCrochet’s Simply Organic Cotton Sport Yarn. Add a little charm to your coffee table with this beginner-friendly free crochet pattern. Made in the round using only one stitch. For a bit of fun I tried to make this pattern with a different weight yarn and I think they look exactly the same (pictured above). The natural coloured coasters are crocheted with We Crochet’s Simply Organic Cotton Sport yarn. This 100% cotton yarn is soooo soft and plush so they’re not as stiff as the Dishie yarn coasters but you can barely tell the difference. ROUND 1: SC into 2nd ch from hook (the ch by the slip knot) – place SM in 1st st, SC 5 into the same ch.

Round 4: *1 dc in the next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the next sts. Repeat from * till the last two stitches. (46 sts) Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first double crochet), 11 dc in the 3rd chain from hook. Do not slip stitch. (12 sts)

Design Inspiration

Once we’ve crocheted the spiral we’ll level it off by crocheting a few slip stitches at the end to create a smooth edge. Fasten off and leave the tail – there’s absolutely no need to weave in the ends as we’ll use it for the fringe! We Crochet Dishie yarn comes in a variety of different colors, my three favorite colors to use are linen, swan, and blush.
