About this deal

penny, on the other hand, was just as charming as cooper. i personally loved everything about her. she was sassy, determined, funny, creative, and utterly romantic. every part of the relationship she had with cooper was unbelievably and undeniably cute. their ability to bond with each other as friends and lovers was so admirable. i loved how vulnerable penny allowed herself to be, there was still pieces of her that were broken from a previous relationship (and some other things in her life) and she decided it was right to take care of herself, to try to make herself bigger and better than before. penny's therapist had my whole entire heart, she was the best <3

I loved Sebastian and when i tell you he carried…he CARRIED. His chapters were relieving and I truly felt the war inside himself when it came to deciding what he wanted for his future. That was sad af but good on him.

Breakaway Summary

seb and mia were friends with bennies but he wanted to take things to a more serious level and had just gotten her to agree to a date when his brother walked in on them *together* and she got spooked. when they’re both at school for the summer and her dorm gets flooded, seb offers her a place to stay and the forced proximity re-ignites old feelings. I have two goals this get into a study abroad program, and get over golden baseball god Sebastian Miller-Callahan. Was this book mindblowing ? Nah. Does it still deserve 5 stars because it was so entertaining. Yes. Yes it does.

Sebastian was honestly pretty flawless. He was an amazing book boyfriend. He was persistent, honest, he wasn’t annoyingly possessive, super sexy and spicy, supportive. He def fell first and harder. All around great guy caught between his dead fathers shadow and forging his own path. I love how Mia inadvertently inspired him to follow his dreams and choose himself, but that’s pretty much all she did & it wasn’t a conscious choice. During the day: If you have a flexible schedule, you may find it helpful to take breaks during the day to read a book. Thanks to the ex from hell, I'm a long way from being ready for a relationship - but it's finally time to reclaim my agency, one sexual experience at a time. This was pretty disappointing. I feel like the most fun part of a romance book is when the leads meet, get to know each other and then get together. But this book starts from a point where you skipped all that and you’re told that they were together but are now broken up. And they don’t even bother showing how they got together in the first place. Basically you get no context or history of their relationship. Because of this I wasn’t connected to the characters at all and didn’t really feel invested in their relationship.

The boy fell hard and don’t we love it. Seb is now my fave of the Callahan. Behind his positive and goofy character, is such a broken soul and his vulnerability throughout the book was so raw. Cooper was just much, much more than I was expecting. Not only was he incredibly sweet and wonderfully patient and understanding, but he was also smart and nerdy/dorky and the best dirty talker. There was just a lot of depth to him that completely floored me. The romance was a great mix of fluffy and spicy. It was hot and sweet and genuine. The third act conflict was believable and I was happy with how everything resolved. It felt like the characters actually worked through things and didn’t just gloss over it. Bex and James were a perfect fit. She’s my coach’s daughter, but from the moment she grabs me on the ice rink, she’s the only thing on my mind. She wants me to introduce her to all the things she’s been dying to experience in the bedroom. If I say yes, I’ll be relaxed on the ice again – but if her dad finds out, I can kiss any chance of being captain goodbye. i don’t know what i was expecting from this book…but it certainly wasn’t what i got. i came to this book for it to be a pass-time. something trashy. something i planned on only reading half of because i’d get bored…however, this surprised me. it was actually pretty good. But also this book was so so so sweet. As much as Mia is the definition of a grump, Seb sees through her hard exterior and is determined to help her understand her worth and support her. Their relationship was so realistic to me..their journey wasn’t easy, but they fought for it. The trust they developed with each other was everything.

First of all, thank you Grace for trusting me to read your book while you wrote it. (Yes, I read this book multiple times LOL) Girlfriend, you are something else! I’m so glad to connect with you through bookstagram. sports romance ⚾️, reverse grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, girl in STEM, bisexual FMC, boy obsessed, golden retriever MMC It’s my final season to prove myself before the MLB Draft. The last thing I need is a distraction–and especially not one as tantalizing as Mia di Angelo. About Grace Reilly

This book starts out a few months after Mia ended her secret friends with benefits relationship with Seb after they were caught by Cooper (Sebs brother). Seb wanted more and has no idea what went wrong. When Mia’s place floods and she has no where to live Seb sees an opportunity to help Mia, but also get close to her again. I wanted to love this book. I really did. But it just fell so flat for me. I didn’t like James’ book but then LOVED Cooper’s so I came in with hopes that Sebastian’s book would go along with the momentum of the previous book. It did not. For a few reasons: sebastian is a 1200000/10 book boyfriend. he was SO sweet, spicy, supportive, possessive and dominating when it mattered, and so protective of mia. a lot of the story is about mia’s bisexuality and how her family isn’t supportive of that and he doesn’t hesitate to stand up for her. his family and friends are also hesitant to accept her after she essentially ghosted him and he defends her every single time. SUCH an amazing book boyfriend, i can’t.
