About this deal

I’ve heard frequent stories about how the “Continental Rubber outsole on Adidas road shoes was incredible, but hadn’t had the chance to test it until now. I can now confirm that this is the case as not only is the outsole on the Adios 6 light, it’s ferociously grippy. I used to do most of my short road races in lightweight trail shoes (The Salomon S/Lab Sense 5, and 6) because I found that the traction provided by soft trail lugs was aggressive enough to transfer power better. The Ultraboost problem: This shoe is immensely successful, and not because it’s a versatile running shoe. It does well because it’s a great everyday sneaker that offers plenty of ride comfort and hard-wearing build quality.

All that we said of the new Lightstrike Pro foam in our Boston 10 review applies to the adios 6 as well. Hence why I like these extended forefoot torsion systems. They help create a snappy ride that transfers force nicely without being too stiff or limiting motion. The forefoot can still flex/bend, so those who want motion there will still be able to use it without losing responsiveness. Some people will like this, while others will want more or less flexibility. Each person is different, just as each foot and plantar fascia are different. So make sure you figure out what works for you and what you like.

These ‘Energyrods’ do not deliver a springboard-like snap of shoes like the Endorphin Pro and Nike Vaporfly, but rather act as a transition assistance device. The adios 6 delivers race-day performance but possesses sufficient comfort for runs of up to a half marathon. Runners with a higher cushioning tolerance can also use the Adios as a marathon racer. McDonald, K. A., Stearne, S. M., Alderson, J. A., North, I., Pires, N. J., & Rubenson, J. (2016). The role of arch compression and metatarsophalangeal joint dynamics in modulating plantar fascia strain in running. PloS one , 11 (4), e0152602.

The midsole is made up of two different types of foam. These would be Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro.What stays the same is a tough, thin, see-through mesh with a suede overlay covering the toes. Diagonal support strips run below the mesh on both sides of the toe box. Seams can cause irritation. The configurations of these two shoes illustrate their different vocations. The Takumi Sen 8 has carbon plates (Energy Rods) which is not the case of the Adios 6. Then, the TS is much lighter, with 1.8 oz/50 g less on the scale!
