About this deal

To select the correct glove size, simply measure across your palm at the point indicated in the last picture on this listing. Then compare your measurement with the chart below to ensure you select the correct glove size for your hand. This heavy-duty ground cover is puncture-resistant and ideal for use on rough ground and under footpaths or driveways. When the finish is coming off, use a high-pressure washer with a max of 2700 PSI and work in the direction of the timber grain. For a more effective process, use a high-pressure washer with an attached turbo nozzle. Work in small sections and be careful, as it can be quite slippery when it’s working. It doesn’t blister or fizz but don’t worry, it’s doing the job. Where your measurement falls on the boundary of two sizes, we recommend selecting the larger of the two sizes for a comfortable fit.

Because of the nature of Owatrol products, you will not need to strip the coating off year after year, but instead you will simply need to give the wood a clean and then give it a few touch ups in the effected areas – perhaps only once a year. Once removed, rinse thoroughly with lots of fresh clean water, using the highest pressure from the water source available or via the use a pressure washer at 500-1000 psi (35-70 bars).

Shake tin thoroughly before pouring the stripper into a suitable metal or plastic container. Stir before and during use. While you may be certain you’ve chosen the right product for the job, it’s always a good idea to perform a small patch test on the surface or object, ensuring that the chosen stripper will not damage or discolour your surface.

Once the coating has been removed effectively, add a small amount of water to the surface and scrub the treated area to remove any debris If your wood is coated with wood oils, whether that be teak oil, linseed oil or another type of wood oil we’d first and foremost recommend you strip them using Aquanett. It’s designed specifically for removing wood oils and it’s a gel formula so it’s easy to use. Again I’d go down the apply neat and pressure washer route myself. Be careful though, bleaching your boards is quite possible though when that happened to mine the wood oil brought them up beautifully again. Pros: For a gentler clean to remove surface dirt and cobwebs, you can use a solution of washing up liquid in warm water. Be careful not to over scrub with anything harshly abrasive, and avoid rubbing against the grain, as that can leave marks.

Gardening expert Fiona recommends using a garden hose rather than a pressure washer to clean the desk if you really don't want to risk causing any damage.

Using weed control fabric significantly reduces the need for chemical weed killers while being safe to use and very easy to install. The stripper is water-based and odor-free, with no VOC’s. It is biodegradable and pH neutral, so you want have to follow up on the application with a wood neutralizer. The formula is safe for the environment, containing no toxic substances. It is safer for you and your family to use, being noncarcinogenic and noncaustic. The manufacturers of this product state it will remove up to 15 layers of paint in one application. Start spraying or rolling the stripper along edges first and then fill up the entire remaining area, During application, make sure to keep the applied surface wet with a garden hose water mist or spray. After 30 minutes, scrape the surface with something sharp like a paint scraper. If the stripper hasn’t worked you will need to apply a bit more and leave it for 10-15 minutes. The product should be left on for up to 30 minutes but not allowed to dry, so it is best to perform the application on a dry but overcast day, and you may need to apply further product before washing it off just to keep it wet. Once the time is up, you should wash it off with a pressure washer or hose. Being heavy-duty, the formula is highly toxic and should be washed off thoroughly and kept away from the skin as it is caustic. After completing the power washing process, take a garden hose and rinse off the entire surface again and make sure there is no more chemical left on the surface. Also, make sure the surrounding surfaces are clean of any stripped finishes and dirt. Solvent-based: This type of paint stripper works by weakening the bond between the surface and the paint. Solvent-based strippers work effectively on paint, epoxies and varnishes, removing them from surfaces such as wood, metal and masonry. These strippers tend to have harsh chemical smells and are generally more expensive. Common solvents used in paint strippers are benzyl alcohol and n-butyl acetate. Water-based strippers fall within the category of solvent-based, as water acts in the solvent in this case; these strippers may also contain small amounts of chemicals, but not nearly as much as traditional solvent strippers.

After 30 minutes scrape the surface with something sharp, like a paint scraper, to see if it’s worked. You should see the old coating lifting as you scrape. If not, put a bit more on and leave for another 10-15 minutes. If you live in Surrey, London and surrounding counties, then we can recommend a company that uses Owatrol products to strip, clean and finish wooden surfaces named R&A Pressure washing services: https://www.pressurewashingcleaning.co.uk Weed Membrane stops weed growth while allowing water and nutrients to penetrate the soil underneath. Before I go on though, it’s worth mentioning that your fish won’t thank you if this ends up in the pond nor your kids. So I’d be looking to use this on a dry day. Rinse with copious amounts of fresh water, using the highest pressure from the water source available or use a power washer at 500-1000 psi (35-70 bars) working in direction of grain (Rinse adjacent areas at same time). Removing Grade Stamps.Give it a good scrub with a stiff brush. Scrub along the grooves and also across them to help loosen the old coating. Pour on some water and keep scrubbing. This will help lift the finish completely off. The stripper aims to remove most oil and latex-based sealers, varnishes, transparent or semi-transparent stains, along with dirt, mold, and mildew. The manufacturer recommends that the product be applied with a pressure washer or garden sprayer for maximum success. Particularly tough stains may require two applications, or alternatively, you can use less water when mixing to create a more heavily concentrated solution.
