The continent maps are more basic than the country maps, but still include facts like the number of countries, the area and sealife. This book would have been very welcome at my school last term when Iceland was included in the Year 1 topic of Around the World! You can learn so much from this amazing book, about the famous places, geography, cultural ways, animals, food. All used books might have various degrees of writing, highliting and wear and tear and possibly be an ex-library with the usual stickers and stamps. With so much to see this book would make a lovely Christmas gift and will certainly keep everyone entertained after Christmas lunch!I love books like this that that introduce geography and culture to children without them realising that they are actually learning! While we have a lot of books in our house, we realised recently that we didn't have a lot of reference books. There is a dearth of information about some of these places (publishers tend to concentrate on what they see as the 'main' countries), particularly for young children. From time to time, we would like to keep you up to date with news about Beyond the Stork and special offers.
