About this deal

These binoculars also have tethered objective lens covers, a well-fitting rain guard and a good quality lens cleaning cloth are also supplied. Without getting into the optical performance at this point I will say that it may contribute to some internal reflections. Because the FOV on the 8x56 is not bad, you don't feel the view is in any way particularly narrow when looking through it and if I gave you one to look through and then a few minutes later swapped it with the other, you would most likely not notice any difference. Close focus, at 2m, is really pretty good without being anything exceptional, but again it will be more than enough for most needs – certainly, I found it fine while doing a bit of dragonfly-watching, as the birds drowsed out of sight in the midday heat.

Both are slightly more apparent in the Bresser though they aren't anywhere near the degree of memory of the Bushnell Legend Ultra. The Optika HD's wich I compared directly did felt like a step up for another extra 50€ (I liked the Optika's a lot!The armor is mat black and feels like some kind of hard rubber with a silvery-grey focus knob and diopter setting to the right oculair, even as the ring at the right oculair, all seemingly made out of some kind of lightweight metal. Unser breites Sortiment umfasst: Ferngläser, Nachtsichtgeräte, Ziel- und Präzisionsoptiken, Überwachungskamers sowie Spektive und Fernrohre. Size of sweet spot slightly favors the Sightron though that may be because the area outside of the sweet spot in the Sightron isn't that much different than the sweet spot itself in terms of field curvature or astigmatism.

The barrel diameter is dependent on the size of the objective and the thickness of the rubber armoring. Given the multiple brands selling similar ranges of binos, it could be interesting to know if their different series (Condor, Pirsch, P ED) have a known match in other brand's catalogue.

I would consider quality control issues to be more along the lines of misalignment, sloppy rubber armor, exposed glue in the prism area, inconsistency with eyecup function, etc. If you are a wildlife observer or birder that often views small, fast, erratic moving birds at closer ranges, then this is definitely a reason to opt for the 8x42 Pirsch ED over the 8x56. A number of new binocular ranges have been released by them, though, so I took a look at the Condors, whose pricing ought to make them highly attractive to beginners, or the budget-conscious.
