Going into detail would be spoilery, but let's just say that while some of her victims deserve it, others very much do not. Seriously, in a Southern book, it is okay for the whole book to be read with an accent, I do not understand why this doesn't happen more often. The author earned a PhD from Brandeis in the literature of the nineteenth century, and he bloody earned it. This is not an action-heavy horror, though it certainly has its moments and enough monsters and ghosts to qualify as a horror without question.
