FRONTLINE PLUS® is a topical treatment which goes over your cat’s skin and hair to kill fleas and ticks through contact with them – they don’t have to bite your ca t to be killed.
Frontline Plus serves to kill fleas on the pet itself as well as in its immediate surroundings for up to one month. We are relatively new cat owners and have adopted strays from our own road, so we don’t have very much idea of the technical care of cats, however I later found out that they require these treatments to prevent these pests nesting on them, so I bought some from sainsbury’s (not sure of the brand name) but I couldn’t tell if they worked well or not since they stayed outside at that time. Easy to use and works really well, so absolutely worth the hours of sulking and evil looks I get from my cats after I put it on them! Fipronil kills ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Haemaphysalis flava, Haemaphysalis campanulata) and lice within 48 hours post-exposure.FRONTLINE Plus® is the most advanced formula within the FRONTLINE® range of flea and tick treatments for cats. When used monthly, FRONTLINE Plus completely breaks the flea life cycle and controls tick and chewing lice infestations.Frontline Plus Spot-on Cat not only kills fleas and ticks on your pet it also contains active IGR technology that stops flea eggs from hatching and larvae developing in your home. It has an insecticidal efficacy against new infestations of adult fleas on both cats and ferrets for 4 weeks, and will prevent their multiplication by inhibiting the development of eggs, larvae, and pupae for 6 weeks after application. Frontline Plus can begin killing these pests 4 hours after application, and Frontline Gold may begin killing them as quickly as 30 minutes after application. We went off the recommendation of my partners family that use this product on their cat and they said it works for them. While Frontline Plus and Frontline Gold treat adult fleas in the exact same way, the addition of pyriproxyfen allows Frontline Gold to kill flea eggs and larvae more effectively than Frontline Plus.
