Could’ve used a bit more of an explanation and apology from Xander but that’s my own personal preference and trope. Also the book felt like not the first book like she just expected u to know what all the high fantasy words meant and there was all this backstory u were probs meant to kno but didnt make sense so just was rly awkies.

I will also add that I am someone that likes to listen and read at the same time and the version on kindle and the audible version were extremely different. Peter is another constable that works alongside Harry and is never afraid to be proud of his achievements… Or his good looks. All of which resulted in an emotional distance from the characters that prevented me from being fully invested in the story.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for a paranormal romance, fated mate's romance, enemies-to-lovers romance, or a bodyguard romance. And it’s also the first book in a new series so as the series goes on some of the world building and confusion I had might make more sense with more books.
