This time around my emotions at the end of “Defy Me” weren’t as intense as they were after reading its predecessor but I think that’s mostly due to the nature of the ending. This isn’t quite a criticism anymore, but this book is teetering on the edge of uncomfortable and if that is expanded or exploited in book six, it might make it irreparably painful or unrealistic for me to read. I really hope Evie is truly dead now but after Anderson came back again I kind of doubt that we really saw the last of her. No matter what The Reestablishment has you believe, we’re all finding ways to pass messages to each other.

Ella and Nazeera on the other hand catch up about their lives, and Nazeera tells Ella how she came to the truth of who they were–she has been hacking into her parents’ databases, and Emmaline helped her find out the truth.Tahereh Mafi is the New York Times best-selling author of the Shatter Me series which has been published in over 30 languages around the world. I can only hope that they have more of a presence in Imagine Me to give some balance to Warner and Ella’s romance.

But Mafi, of course, had other plans as we find out that Anderson has managed to take some of Sonia and Sara’s healing powers. Or if you mess with it to explain how Warner and Juliette have always been soulmates and have always fallen in love even after their parents deleted their memories multiple times.

I accept that the word may not of been used in the context in which I read it, but the connotations of the word 'vegetable' are well known.
