Before I tell you what we loved and wished for with this toy, I should just mention that as a side note, Blaze and the Monster Machines Monster Dome Playset is aimed at 3 year olds and over. Normally I wonder why they set these limits for toys when there aren’t any small parts, but for this toy the reason is very clear but easily over come.

The idea is that the track is assembled into two side by side race tracks which allows Blaze (good guy) to race Crusher (bad guy). Pickle spots a little rain cloud nearby and stands under it, but Crusher refuses to join him as he claims it won’t make enough water for him, so he makes a giant robo-cloud for himself. Launching the vehicles is pretty easy, you just slam down on the launcher and it sends the vehicles racing through the obstacles on the track. Crusher refuses to share it however, but upon opening the chest, he finds the crab he encountered, which pinches him and scares him away. Before Pegwheel sets off on his treasure hunt, he invites Blaze, AJ and Gabby to come with him which the accept.The playset allows children to create a whole range of different tracks which Crusher and Blaze can then race side-by-side, with the help of two launchers to set them off. This stunt set can be configured into multiple layouts so your child can recreate all the action and adventure of Blaze and the Monster Machines. Once it was assembled the track itself was durable and did not require me to constantly "fix" or re-adjust it (unlike some Hotwheels sets I have recently put together). Blaze and Crusher can race side by side or in a T formation with one jumping through loop while the other drives through it.

Blaze and Pegwheel approach Pirate's Peak, but they are suddenly pursued by bighorns dressed like pirates. First, they have to cross Booby Trap Bridge, which is full of booby traps which pop the tires of someone. Crusher begins to get thirsty and spies a glass of lemonade, which happens to belong to the crab from earlier. To get the car round the loop a pretty hard whack is required and it was a bit too much for Aria, but she is only 2, even if she is car mad (the set does say 3+). Meanwhile, Pickle is still playing under the rain cloud, Crusher still refusing to come with him because of his robo-cloud, when he asks it to rain again, it does not rain water but instead rains baby bottles, much to his annoyance.

At the beginning, Swoops is taking Blaze, AJ and Gabby for a ride through the clouds and Blaze greets the viewers and explains the situation. If Blaze wants to get the rotor, he has to stay away from the clouds that are charging up, as they will release lightning.
