Martin Scorsese was nominated for Best Achievement in Directing and the film was nominated for Best Motion Picture. Even more seductive is Naomi’s warm yet sharklike smile, which promises everything men are conditioned to want in life. Jordan Belfort considers himself a ‘self-made man’ and his ostentatious wealth allows him to ignore arguments to the contrary. For all its hilarity and taboo inducing high jinks, The Wolf of Wall Street does slow down in its final hour to find genuine darkness in Jordan Belfort’s story.

At times the bitrate dropped into the teens and other times jumped into the high eighties and low nineties.He did some despicable things in his life, and ruined the lives of a lot of other people in the process. So much fun, we can’t help but admire his tenacity to have that much fun, enjoy that little twinkle in his eye with just a soupcon of jealousy and envy. track isn't as active as I might have hoped, but its excellent modulation unifies all the sonic elements into a cohesive whole and provides a satisfying aural experience. Of all of Scorsese’s films, I’d heard that The Wolf of Wall Street was the one that most closely resembled GoodFellas (my personal favorite Scorsese film). Paramount's 4K UHD presentation with Dolby Vision improves upon the Blu-ray, but doesn't knock our socks off, and the lack of any audio upgrade is disappointing.

The Wolf of Wall Street Roundtable– Essentially DiCaprio doing a lot of talking and Scorsese doing a lot of nodding while referring to the making of the film. The Wolf Pack (HD; 16:58) is an archival piece with some fun interviews with the principal cast and crew.

Note: test discs only were sent for review, so we are yet to see any of the off-disc extras included in this set, including the new 60-page collector’s booklet, and the limited-edition packaging that includes replica wallet, AmEx card and Stratton Oakmont banknote. This is him at his most playful, not needing to overdo it with his fancy split-screens or extended single takes or even those all-time needle drops.

With an almost maniacal glee, he immerses his audience in a world most of us can't fathom, and like he does in his Mafia films, he makes this counter-culture fascinating, even bizarrely appealing. Impeccably measured yet wonderfully natural, DiCaprio channels his inner asshole and makes this jerk likable, even endearing.
