About this deal

The colour monster, at first, has no way of organising his thinking or feelings and it takes a wiser, more reflective hand, to sort them out and guide him through them. This makes sense as to why my most favorite line in the book is “ Sometimes, you want to take out your anger on others.

The children might like to experiment with paint or water and food dye by mixing colours to see what new colours they can make. For the adventurous, they might want to mix in some jelly, glitter, spaghetti or even some shaving foam to experiment with different textures. All online references have been selected on an illustrative basis for the relevant potential learning activities.Dens are great for all sorts of things - a bit of quiet time, some imaginative play as the den becomes a magic cave or a spaceship or even just a place to snuggle up for a story! Alternatively, they could draw them into different jars using this template - https://teachingideas. Indeed, on the final page the story doesn't explicitly spell out how the monster feels so children can have fun guessing and questioning what it 'feels' like to be in love! Does their emotional literacy increase where they could initially name three feelings, but now it’s five?

In a classroom setting this book could help individuals explore their feelings but you could also use it with a child to help them understand their emotions.

He soon meets a young girl and together they embark on a journey, exploring all the different types of emotions. Lo recomiendo académicamente y también, cuando no se sepa explicar el peso de las emociones, lo importante del autoconocimiento y el estar cercanos con nuestro interior. While that is one way to feel sadness, there are so many others ways to be sad, and so many other behaviors to express sadness.

I would then ask the students to pick the color of the emotion they feel today and create an artwork with that color. Use Scratch (or a similar coding platform) to program a monster that changes colour when you press different keys (or when another action takes place).

Desde entonces, diseña productos originales, escribe e ilustra libros e imparte cursos de creatividad y emociones. Right now they just appear as pictures of each page and the monster is on the top half of one page, while the jars are on the bottom half of the same page. Parents may want to read the story again with the children or invite the children to tell them the story, using their own home-made monsters from last week’s resources. One is the intro but each of the handout sections has their own page (ie Color Monster is fully on one page and the jars are fully on another). Let me know what else you are looking for and I might be able to brainstorm a solution to your problem!

Now that the children know what Monsters eat, are they brave enough to take the ‘Monster Eat the Rainbow Challenge’? If you are doing any sort of metaphor work with kids this is a GREAT book to get the wheels turning! The PDF version is a picture of the monster with text and graphics added over because I hand drew the monster, pieces, and bottles to attempt to keep as similar style to the book as possible - so it's not possible to share as they were drawn out in person.

I liked this story because it shows the different emotions someone can feel and how to sort them to not bundle them all up together. Also, an original with the "How are you feeling today" so our students can glue the monster onto and the original "My Feelings Jars" sheet that our students can glue the bottles onto. As an extension activity, the discussion could also focus on what things help when they are feeling sad, afraid or angry.
