About this deal

like I said - Wikipedia would be more informative) and you have what I can safely say is the worst book I have ever read.

I loved that this book covered less well-known serial killers; usually, these books just examine the same few famous serial killers.Instead a string of narcissistic comments, adverts for his own books and personal irrelevant comments about serial killers ensued eg. I don't think I'll be able to read the book any further, because so far it just seems like constant self-fellaciating; a macho man, self-reporting on his experiences talking with serial killers and how he handled himself, with a convenient lack of supporting evidence past his own word. This instalment in Berry-Dee's true-crime series doesn't go as in-depth as I would expect and it often drifts from topic to topic. This book was a gift from my work mates when I left to start a new job, and I really wanted to like it more than I did because of that. The murderers described are very interesting and in some way this book broadened my knowledge about them, but it doesn't change the fact that I was very disappointed with this book and if you want to learn something about serial killers without unnecessary descriptions and promotion of other books, I would advise you to reach for books by other authors.

Talking with Psychopaths and Savages will inevitably shift the reader's view of those capable of the most heinous murders, and in doing so reveals that horror can be much closer to us than we think. Images Donate icon An illustration of a heart shape Donate Ellipses icon An illustration of text ellipses. He alternates between mocking the narcissism and arrogance of the killers, and then talking about how he was the only person smart enough to manipulate them and trick them into confessions. There's a passage inserted between case studies of serial killers and psychopaths talking about a mental hospital near where the author grew up and how the inhabitants were roaming around being crazy - because that's apparently relevant.
