About this deal

Although this Die is a 4-plane design, most Kioxia BiCS5 NAND Dies used in most SSDs are dual planes design because of Yield and production cost. On the top side is the NAND package on the left and the controller is on the right with a few discrete parts surrounding it. Where this drive looks less enticing is for those running mission-critical exercises where performance is everything.

Next we used SiSoft SANDRA, the the System ANalyzer, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant for some quick tests. It delivers sufficient speed to launch titles quickly, but it costs about 40% less than the flagship branded designs.

This saves a big chunk of the manufacturer's bill of materials, and thanks to advances in the latest controllers, it can be surprising how little impact this has on performance. Depending on how you intend to use an SSDs, endurance is either something you are concerned about or not.

With Game mode disabled though, which is how the drive is configured by default, temperatures are a bit lower. The drive itself is a low-profile affair, with this 1TB model boasting a single NAND flash module at the back (actually a rebranded Kioxia BiCS5 112-Layer TLC chip) and the SanDisk controller towards the connector. Although it falls just short of unseating our budget internal SSD champ, the ADATA XPG Atom 50, the WD Black SN770 is well worth consideration by cash-strapped gamers. Observação: A compatibilidade pode variar de acordo com a configuração do hardware e com o sistema operacional do usuário. When using with the My Cloud NAS products, the software must be running from an operating system on the same local network. Data is first written to the SLC blocks to maximize performance, but should the SLC cache be saturated, data can still be written direct to the TLC NAND.
