TheSamyang AF 12mm f/2 lensoffers a bright F2 aperture which guarantees faster shutterspeeds in low light conditionsand helps improveastrophotography. Especially on a wide-angle lens, which does not have to make such a big shot, we expect a fast autofocus. This makes the lens a perfect companion for more compact Micro Four Thirds bodies and it balances well with the P anasonic Lumix GX7 used for testing. This new prime lens is the world's first Autofocus 12mm lens compatible with E mount, which performs optimally on Sony APS-C mirrorless cameras. The focus ring’s operation is non-linear, which means that twisting it rapidly gives large adjustments, while slow rotation enables precise fine-tuning. The Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro might not come with the most impressive camera hardware we have seen, but Google's software power and tuning excellence help its new flagship smartphones produce among the very best image quality we have seen on mobile devices.

Stopping on down to F4 made for further improvement, with the greatest improvement showing from F4 to F5.

Closing down further to f/11 induces visible diffraction softening, and I’d avoid using anything beyond f/16. Other reviewers have compared it favourably to Zeiss offerings and other much more expensive ultra wides.

In this regard Sigma fp and Sony A7C are excellent steps to replace small APSC cameras for the ones who favor small size.
