About this deal

The book jumps between subjects almost at random, but early sections are the freshest, covering stories of her Belarusian émigré family and her adolescence spent in 1950s Oxford. Award-winning actress, bestselling author of her memoir This Much is True, and Britain's naughtiest national treasure is back, and she's as outrageous as ever. She adds, “Let it not be said that I have never suffered in the name of art,” concluding that the actor “was undeniably brilliant, but horrid to me”. And with a castlist that stretches from Churchill to di Caprio, Dahl to Dietrich, Princess Margaret to Maggie Smith, I've got so much more to tell you and so much more to say. The shock of hair and dancing eyes, gleefully at war with her matronly tone – this is what makes Margolyes special.

Hachette Australia acknowledges and pays our respects to the past, present and future Traditional Owners and Custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Addressing Schofield’s decision to quit after admitting to lying about an affair with a younger male colleague, Margolyes adds: “I feel sad I shan’t have the chance to make Phil laugh again; he was a darling then and to me he always will be.

And the nastiest of the current nasties is the Israeli prime minister, who should be in jail for breach of trust, accepting bribes, and fraud. It contains lots more revelations and stories and discoveries and I can’t wait to share it with you all! I would highly recommend Miriam’s first autobiography ‘This Much is True’, if you are looking for mainly biographical details about her life.I think I liked this one more than her previous book, partly because I listened to it but also because she was much less interested in telling her history in a chronological sense, but she was determined to discuss herself now - political, married, angry and tired.

I listened to the audio version of the book as with a reading voice like Miriam’s, it seemed the most logical option! I dithered before giving this book a two star review because I really do like Miriam Margolyes and her first book was a riot. The British actor, 83, played the secretary to Martin’s ‘psychopathic dentist’ character Orin Scrivello, with the pair performing the musical number ‘Dentist! Miriam Margolyes has said that comedy legend Steve Martin was “horrid” on set when they worked together. She may not have done it in the same way as Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Vanessa Redgrave and some of the other "grandes dames" of British acting, but she is every bit their equal in talent, intellect and humour. Our favourite British eccentric is back with a funny and outrageous sequel to her first autobiography. this book is like Margolyes herself - outspoken, ebullient and unexpectedly wise' EMMA LEE-POTTER, Daily Express 'Snortingly funny . He is fanning the flames of conflict between Israelis and Palestinians and removing the chance of peace between them. Personally I’m not a fan of politics in books (unless of course it’s meant to be political writing). The text is something I'll probably pick up too at some point, but with a voice like Miriam's, you simply have to listen to the audiobook, don't you?
