Amazingly, they actually taste like the flavour on the wrapper, unlike other flavoured protein bars. Setting the 'bar' here folks (literally) 15-16g protein with unrivalled flavour, a triple-layered plant based sensation containing LESS than a gram of sugar per bar! The best protein bars offer a convenient way to top up essential nutrients when on the move – but from the multitude of brands and flavours out there, how can you tell which taste great, are healthy enough to eat regularly and deliver the protein punch you need? We can’t believe something this delicious has hardly any sugar in – so if you’re looking for a high protein option, this is truly a tough bar to beat. I have had a few bars since this review and some are drier/cardboard-ier then others – I wonder if “freshness” is a factor?

We tried them both pre and post workouts, after training in the gym and tempo run sessions, and even mid-way through long cycle rides out on the bike, to see which ones delivered on taste, high protein and low sugar.The overall texture of these bars is very pleasant and different from many other protein bars, but the overall flavors are only average. Plus, Carb Killa bars are certified with the Informed Sport programme – so they’re suitable for use by drug-tested athletes. I’ve been reviewing protein bars long enough to know that the bars won’t actually look like that, but that is just too enticing to pass up. The bars are made in the UK using 100% natural, gluten-free, and dairy-free ingredients sourced from different parts of the world where they are grown.

The millionaire shortbread is probably our favourite – a gluten-free, plant-based vegan bar with 15g of protein. All in all this is a deliciously creamy bar, with caramel which comes through without being too sweet, complimented by the saltiness.

If you like the texture and sweetness of the other bars, but are looking for something more familiar, this is your bar right here. Flavor 5/5: I’m a chocolate lover so the variety pack has plenty of chocolatey, cookie dough, caramel goodness. Changing the snacking game one bar at a time, creating a bar that comes in under 200kcals whiilst remaining gluten and dairy free! The company was founded to produce functional and health-inclusive snacks that help you navigate your busy life with ease.

I tried the Chocolate Brownie Crunch flavour and I’m pleased to report there’s no bitter protein aftertaste lingering in your mouth and it actually resembles a regular chocolate bar. Most hazelnut chocolate things I have tried do not taste strongly of hazelnut to me, so I would recommend trying this one for yourself. Our personal favourite is the raspberry flavour, which offers a subtle sour kick to the soft and chewy flapjack base.

These plant-based sensations are chocolate coated with crispy crunchy pieces galore and a caramel core this is plant-based wizardry at it's best!
