About this deal

Yes this is a children’s/YA book but one that reminds me of similar books I use to read myself as a child. I particularly adored how this book tackled a lot of topics that are very prevalent in today's society such as climate change and social media.

Lottie Brooks - Google Books The Mega-Complicated Crushes of Lottie Brooks - Google Books

Ze bleef maar bij het gemene meiden groepje en leek ook af en toe niet te snappen waarom haar andere vriendin niet zo blij was met de zaken.Junior caught up with author, illustrator and influential parenting blogger Katie Kirby asking her all those questions the kids want to know! Lottie isn’t based on a real person, but I did base a lot of her thoughts and feelings on myself when I was her age. She might as well give up now and go into hibernation with her hamsters Sir Barnaby Squeakington and Fuzzball the Third. To answer your question - not a new favourite chocolate as such, but in book two Lottie discovers Bubble Tea and gets rather obsessed with it.

Lottie Brooks - Penguin Books UK

Lottie Brooks LOVES Christmas - there's presents, all the KitKat Chunkys you can eat AND no school for two weeks! there's a Secret Santa to organise, and the hammies won't stop attacking Gavin, the Elf on the Shelf! I also remember shaving my legs for the first time with one of my dad’s old razors and doing a really bad job of it, just like Lottie does in book one. It would be more but it will never compare to my favourites with 4 and 5 stars being a completely different kettle of fish. i kibicuję lottie przemocno, żeby jej przyjaźnie trwały bardzo długo, aby wszystko szło po jej myśli, żeby miała z kim jeść kitkaty, a jednocześnie żeby nie musiała się nimi dzielić.

The other girls staying at the camp are MEGA-MEAN, best friend Jess is spending all her time with new girl Isha, and Lottie's diary gets stolen! Plus it does not resonate with my pre-teen self as much as others claim due to cultural differences, but it totally can and i honestly and fully enjoyed it, read it in one evening (very late evening) and am very tempted to reach for what the author offers for adults. zrobiłam re-read po dwóch dniach, bo potrzebowałam miliona znaczników w tej książce, dziękuję, pozdrawiam. Kirjeldatud olukorrad, eriti Lottie kodune elu ja peresuhted, tulid nii tuttavad ette ja ma tundsin end korduvalt tema emas ära. She told me it was hilarious, and in it were characters based on the kind of people everyone will meet, or has met in their lifetime.

As an adult this book is a comedy, getting to read about the dramas of an 11 year old is completely hilarious and i promise it will make you feel so relaxed realizing how everything feels like the end of the world at that age. Helping your child manage their nerves and anxiety before the Wirral 11+ exam is crucial for them to perform at their best.Yes, that's right, the Junior team took a step back and let the kids ask all those burning questions they had about their favourite new anti-heroine Lottie. I found it EXTREMELY funny but also EXTREMELY relatable because Lottie’s life could probably relate to a lot of 12 yo girls now! The school holidays are looming, and with Lottie off camping to France for two weeks and Daniel spending most of the summer on a fancy Greek island, it looks as if the young lovebirds will be cruelly ripped apart. Aha that’s an interesting question because it’s a real part of the storyline in book two – you’ll have to read it to find out!

The Extremely Embarrassing Life of Lottie Brooks - Waterstones The Extremely Embarrassing Life of Lottie Brooks - Waterstones

From an adult point of view, I liked how her mum talked about it with her and celebrated her changing body and didn't make her feel like it was something to feel shameful about. It’s hard not to laugh out loud when Lottie accidentally sticks her face to her pillow with marmite, toothpaste and honey, and the hilarity is multiplied by simple illustrations in the form of stick figures with speech bubbles. Not only is she about to start high school without any friends or glamorous swooshy hair, she's just discovered she's too flat-chested to wear A BRA! The first book in the hilarious new series for children by the bestselling creator of Hurrah For Gin.Oczywiście nadal tak samo kocham naszą główną bohaterkę, lecz podczas lektury często nie zgadzałam się z jej decyzjami i posunięciami. And although this is a humorous book that had me laughing out loud in some places, there were also some emotional moments where Lottie is crying in bed.
