About this deal

Our easy mai tai recipe uses dark and light rum, so you get the best of both worlds in terms of flavour. Filming this in the 1st of October 2019, we tried it way back in July at Imbibe at a big Bar show, but it's only just being released in the big major wholesalers.

You probably need a little bit of lime, a wedge of lime just to kind of balance it a little bit, but just amazing. This is Nix and Kix, and this is their Mango, Ginger with a little bit of Cayenne Pepper in there as well. I'm going to show you a whole load probably ten or twelve, but five I'm going to go through very quickly. It’s light, spicy and ever-so slightly sweet on the nose with a vanilla-like creaminess that’s reminiscent of a good cream soda. I'm not a huge grapefruit and Rum fan, hence I don't go overboard on Ting, but for me this has just got that slight little edge of flavour and I really like that cash and carry's, most supermarkets, they'll all have that.

It's been out a very long time, but, apparently, I heard the other day they stopped making it for a while. Dark or white, spicy or sweet, find your favourite recipe and become a marvellous mixologist with our top tips. I absolutely, my favourite serves with this now, is kind of like a Pineapple Rum the Pineapple and the Muscovado just works exceptionally well.

We're kicking off with a fruity cocktail that uses both dark and light rum, pineapple juice, lime and a splash of grenadine. Though traditionally made with limes, a caipirinha can also be made with pineapple or passion fruit for that characteristic sweet and sharp flavour. But these five are my kind of new have a look at, go and try, play about with cocktails, because I think they're going to be amazing. Muddle your sugar, lime and mint leaves, then add the crushed ice, pineapple juice and cachaça liqueur, or light white rum.

In the Spiced Gekko it makes a lovely, simple drink working well with the ginger ale and coming through for a really refreshing summer cocktail. Again anything, even stuff for your Rums, like your Appleton's, their Signature Blends, your Mount Gays those sort of style of Rums. I really like that, and I think the cayenne pepper, there's kind of this spice thing coming now, with the colas, that going on with these drinks, so they just add a new dimension. It's the Smoky Ginger Ale, but the one I want to focus on, it's the Spiced Orange, because the flavour profile of that goes amazing with a Rum and Spiced Rum. I'm gonna get a few more bottles and start using this with the Spiced Rum, because I don't use this in the tasting as I do for the Spiced Drums. The next one I want to showcase; I’ve been banging on about this for the best part of two years now and it's still unheard of.

Kind of big, obviously it's just the sort of a pineapple fizzy, I’ve had an equivalent pineapple Fanta. They've got the taste and the sweetness of the juice, but in the fizz, but there is slightly less sugar in there and amazing. It goes down smoothly though, which is the main thing and tastes equally good over ice or given length and an extra hit of spice in the suggested serve with ginger ale. Turn it into a tropical punch for party season, a three-ingredient classic or a smooth, sophisticated daiquiri. Once you've mastered the basic cocktail, try our three favourite flavour twists – mint, tequila or orange.
