About this deal

In this powerful moving memoir Lynnette and Steve expose the many failures that let Reynolds infiltrate their daughter's life and allowed him to kill. I'm not going to describe how Georgia died, where they found her body, or what happens to Jamie after he's arrested. Now Georgia’s mum Lynnette has spoken of their heartache of losing their beloved daughter in her book, Our Georgia.

This is free download Social and Private Life at Rome in the Time of Plautus and Terence by Georgia Williams Leffingwell complete book soft copy. Our Georgia is a shocking and deeply emotional true crime memoir regarding the harrowing and brutal murder of British teenager Georgia Williams in 2010 at the hands of disturbing degenerate Jamie Reynolds who had harboured some extremely deviant fascinations since the tender age of 15. However, I will mention the important things here: Georgia didn't deserve to die the way that she did, and her parents do a solid job of memorializing her in the book.this book was written by georgia’s mother, who offers a unique perspective into the aftermath of losing a child in such a gruesome way. Some memoirs about dead or missing loved ones tend to gloss over the details and make their child, friend, neighbor, or other family member sound like a saint.

While it may be a difficult read at times due to the subject matter, it is an important reminder that we must always be vigilant and take action when we see warning signs of potential harm.

Reading this on the back of the James Bulger books, it is becoming more and more concerning how the criminal system works and how justice is often overlooked in favour of protecting the criminals. If the police had done their jobs in the days, weeks, months, and years leading up to the night Georgia was murdered, it is an almost certitude that she would be alive today.

Heartbroken family remember murdered daughter 10 years after

In the end, I was relieved we went – the day was warm and sunny and it was the kind of place Georgia would have gone camping with her mates. As we read the book, we discovered the friend was in love with her and she kept rejecting him as she nicely told him repeatedly she wasn't interested in him. After brutally killing Georgia, he then took photographs of himself sexually assaulting her all over the house which was part as a very dark twisted sick fantasy that he possessed. Very early on they found out that Jamie was obsessed with Snuff movies especially if hanging was involved. It is a very powerful moving memoir from Lynn and Steve about what an amazing daughter Georgia was her love for life and for all the people around her.Her story is a stark reminder that the system is far from perfect and there is much work still to be done. Thank you to Robin Eveleigh; Lynnette Williams, Mardle Books and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was a case that took over the British headlines at the time due to its detail and severity and the fact that even when your father is a high-ranking member of the police force, and you are murdered, his employers are not immune or averse to lying to you, either. The force's web of deceit is hard to avoid, especially when someone's father is employed by them, like Georgia's. They have not faltered in their fight to try and change the future of policing, for future families that become victims of crime.

I was quite disgusted at how the police treated this family, especially considering Georgia’s father was a serving member of the force. Georgia went over to Jamies house thinking she was helping him out with a photo shoot for a portfolio but sadly Jamie had other plans that night. As Steve and Lynnette discovered, Reynolds had been in the sights of the same force for several years prior to Georgia's murder, but he had escaped capture. West Mercia Police claimed there was “no causal link” between its officers’ actions in dealing with Reynolds in 2008 and Georgia’s murder five years later. Drawing on Steve’s inside police knowledge, the couple exposed the litany of failures that let Reynolds infiltrate their daughter’s life, and allowed him to kill. This was the first time I’d heard of Georgia, and I feel a part of Georgia and her story will always stay in the back of my mind. She doesn't sugar-coat her experiences or emotions and instead presents a raw and authentic account of the tragedy. Readers will feel as though they are right there with her through each step of her journey and will have a newfound appreciation for her bravery and strength.
