I didn’t have much luck when it comes to tessa Bailey’s books, they just kind of never worked for me, but the synopsis of this one sounds like something that is totally my thing. Piper’s and Brendon’s relationship turned from enemies to friends a little quicker than most of us expected. Surface level wasn’t enough for her any longer and I loved that she came to that realisation in her own way.She trespasses the Mondrian hotel to give an after party at the roof top pool, inviting thousands of people. Even though she loves her job as a party planner, she wants people to take her seriously now and stop seeing her as a kid who paints faces at children’s birthdays for a living.

Yet as she reconnects with her past and begins to feel at home in Westport, Piper starts to wonder if the cold, glamorous life she knew is what she truly wants. Like, it's definitely predictable and full of cliches, but I'm not a NYT book reviewer, I'm a stay-at-home-mom who wants to get lost in a romance exactly like this one and escape for a little while.The author tells us about the beautiful relationship that develops between Piper and Brendan in this novel. As the story progressed, I loved the focus on Piper taking the time to discover who she really is and finding the meaning that she so desperately craves. It Happened One Summer also highlights the phoniness of social media and the significance of love and family. It's at a later line where she learns her true self, and finds that finding love and having a bond relationship with her sister is much more then having so many followers on social media. Which was a pitiful word for travelling to a distant plane where fairies danced and gumdrops rained from the sky.Winnie wants to enter a cooking competition to save her family's diner, but must get around her formidable granny first. I am not going to say that the romance was cheesy and cringe as it is expected to happen between the romance of two normal individuals. Maybe if people think she's having a steamy love affair, they'll acknowledge she's not just the "little sister" who paints faces for a living. Even though Twisted Lies is the least spicy book in the series, there are spicy scenes in chapters 19, 23, 31, 32, 36, 39, and 53. Moving to Westport, being financially cut off, and connecting with Brendan make Piper question her extravagant lifestyle.
