Every single record I have in the set is scuffed like hell from the paper sleeve they came in, and these sets were definitely played to death, and yet my copies have low noise floor, and some even dead-silent.

The remastering was done by the same team led by Allan Rouse which had remastered The Beatles’ entire back catalogue for 2009. Agreed with previous comments, that this version along with the "Red'' album are great pressings, generally quiet, clean and definitely classic analog sound! The widespread belief that the boys' song-writing got better in the latter half the 60s rings quite true, as there is an abundance of bona-fide classic songs here - far too many to list all the highlights - but "Penny Lane", "Revolution", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "The Ballad of John and Yoko", "Come Together", "Something", "Let It Be", and (perhaps the most fitting closer ever to an album) "The Long and Winding Road" are eternal favourites.

And certain omissions aside, it does a fairly good job explaining why they were good and why they mattered. Along with its companion ‘Red Album’, it’s been a gateway for generations of new Fab Four fans for decades.
