I just purchased it, plugged it in via the wireless dongle, and Steam recognized it as a PS4 controller, thus allowing you to configure the touchpad and gyro. The software features a great UI that makes remapping a trivial matter and is the best experience I’ve had since the Steam Controller – though that comes with its own performance issues I won’t discuss here. For instance, you could make it so moving the stick even 20 percent of the way is equal to a full 100-percent tilt, or give yourself a larger dead zone for additional finesse. The issue is particularly annoying as it means the PC won’t recognise the controller at all when gaming. It comfortably holds the controller, USB cable, wireless adapter, hex driver, and four extra analog stick caps together in one place, with each piece having its own dedicated recess or (for the USB cable) mesh pocket.
By default the C40 ships with the PlayStation 4’s standard layout, meaning two analog sticks side by side. By loosening them with the included hex driver, you can remove the plate (the screws themselves are locked in even when loose, so you don't need to worry about losing them) to expose the analog stick and direction pad modules. A deeply recessed micro USB port between the upper switches lets you plug in the C40 with the included six-foot cable for charging, using the gamepad as a wired controller, or customizing it with Astro's software. Using the controller on PC, you’ll be asked to download Astro’s controller configuration software, which does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin.

I just bought a Nacon Revolution, which is listed but it shows up as an Xbox One controller in Steam. The only workaround I found was to go into the PC’s system settings and manually force the machine to view the C40 as an Xbox 360 remote.

The UR button mapping also gave me more options during combat, just like in Sekiro, since I could switch to grenades while moving. The PlayStation 4 usually connects through Bluetooth, but Astro’s omitted that from the C40 in favor of a 2. To its credit, the C40 does more than the Xbox One Elite Controller and SCUF’s various offerings, but is it enough? A white dot moves down the line toward the orange dot as you push the stick, indicating how far your PS4 or PC will think you're pushing the stick based on the tweaked curve.This lets you set dead zones and rapid acceleration arcs at different angles of tilting the stick or pulling the trigger, granting a remarkable level of granularity. I am a near expert at direct input xinput steam input related matters so please for the love of sanity don't say "did you check the PS4 controller option". Mappability streamlines the controller for any genre and playstyle while improving response time and accuracy.
