About this deal

My difficulty with it is that writing is my first language and I’m not as fluent in the spoken word.

Down, I’ll introduce you main colors and their main ‘meanings’ and impacts, which can be used in every sphere of life starting from your personal look, up to your working place. Strong blues will stimulate clear thought and lighter, soft blues will calm the mind and aid concentration. I found it a little difficult to sink into at first, but then was drawn into the story and am so glad that I was!Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways. As a doctor, I am qualified to tell you that this course of treatment will likely generate the best results. To quote Oscar Wilde “ Mere colour, unspoiled by meaning and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways”. Through there is only three chapters of book, it makes sense why its just three with just chapter titles not chapters.

Alice, the narrator, describes the course of her life, from dysfunctional childhood home in Ireland to building a life for herself in London. She struggles with the headaches the lights give her and rebels against the emotions she absorbs from others. A stunning, wonderful, powerful tale: Alice lives with her mother and two brothers, one older and one younger. My only complaint would be that the latter half of the book moved way too fast for me, bounding through the adult years of her life where I really wanted to linger hour by hour with Alice.

We meet Alice when she’s just eight and it’s the first time she starts seeing colour (or auras) around people. This may cause dreaminess, that’s why I personally wouldn’t advise you adding too much of purple in your workplace as it will distract you all the time. It was one of those books that I became totally absorbed in, not light hearted as I normally enjoy, but contemplative especially towards the end.

The book spans most of her life and is filled with wisdom and beautiful description, as Alice tries and stumbles to navigate growing up in light of her gift, which for a long time she sees as a curse. Alice realised at 8 years of age that she could see the colours of people's moods swirling around them, changing with their thoughts and desires; manifesting their actions. For landscapes, place the horizon either along the top or bottom third of the frame and try to position important landmarks a third in from the side; for portraits or action shots, place the subject to the side, with space for your subject to ‘move into’. Cecelia writing style is beyond phenomenal she's so quirky in the ways that she tells her stories and I really love that about her. Many audiences are more prone to turning to logic or practicality, which is where you might use logos.

Life has been so manic recently and I've been trying to get into a book on my Netgalley shelf but being a mood reader non were grabbing me. However, for many photographers Aperture Priority is their go-to mode 90% of the time, as changing the aperture also selects a matching shutter speed – widen the aperture to shoot faster, close it down to shoot slower. Most often it is described as the color representing lack of energy, depression, lack of confidence.
