About this deal

However, the higher-end models do have some variations in them with the IE 600 driver using a dual Helmholtz resonator chamber design and the IE 900 using an X3R version. The IE 300 uses a 7mm XWB dynamic driver which is another variation of the TrueResponse driver using a different blend of materials. The Stage is the real most notable thing I liked on the IE200. Great width and fantastic depth and height. For me with these tips I really liked the way the Senny presented the stage in a really smooth way. Impedance is 18 ohms, which is very low and should make it a very easy task to ‘drive’ these headphones from a source device, whether that be a smartphone, portable music player, or even a laptop.

On the plus side, the bass has good speed and does not bleed into the lower-mids in the bright-neutral mode (which is relatively close to the DF-neutral target). The mid-bass is not perfectly flat in the “bass-boosted” mode and imparts some warmth into the lower-mids. It’s a pleasant coloration, however. Treble: As I know many IEMs will have issues with treble but Sennheiser has done a great job here too. It's on the spot not going up and down but perfect. The company has refined the 7mm ‘Extra Wide Band’ drive unitalso, as well as the chamber-within-a-chamber structure that helps manage airflow in an effort to produce a defined bass and equally satisfying midrange. The IE200 is simply inoffensive and is special in the way it serves you the music I think its worthy for your stable and worth the money. In fact, if what’s being used by London commuters is a reasonable reflection of the industry at large, plenty of people still favour being able to plug their headphones directly into a smartphone or laptop. The 7mm “TrueResponse” driver has very low Total Harmonic Distortion. This makes the IE 200 ideal for high SPL listening and EQing. The diaphragm is polymer-based, which can mean several things, including PET, PEEK, and such. Sennheiser does not explicitly mention the diaphragm material. Tuning

The in-canal fit is secure, especially because of the braided cable’s semi-rigid, pliable section that loops up and over your ear. In the box, you get a generous array of ear tip options—three pairs of silicone and memory foam tips, each in small, medium, and large sizes. We prefer the foam tips because they almost always improve the fit, passive noise isolation, and bass depth.

The build quality and finish of my set of IE 200 is perfect, there’s really nothing bad I can say about it. Important to see and note is that the IE 200 has a rib/ridge on the canal so the tip can be held in place. The nozzle is also sealed with a plastic mesh so that dirt and wax can’t easily enter the IEMs. In fact, that mesh logo can be found in the foam tips as well, they share the same design. Sennheiser/Deutsche Gründlichkeit. Without having to concern itself with contemporary features, Sennheiser has been able to prioritise the fundamentals for the IE 300 – build and sound quality. It nails the former, and there’s plenty to like in the latter: they’re bolder and more authoritative-sounding than most, with majestic bass depth and wonderfully rich vocals among the highlights.

Honestly first impression were less than favorable. Kind of funny , I normally use in a portable set up first but because the IE200 only comes with a Single Ended - Non balanced option and my sources and cables were very limited. I started off on the desk with the AKM J2 and Topping A90D. Unlike most earphones around this price, the Sennheiser IE200s are simply designed for the very best sound quality possible – no ANC, no Bluetooth and no remote – just the very best in engineering quality. At the heart of these Sennheiser, earphones are 7mm TrueResponse drivers. These responsive, precision drivers give a fast response for a punchy, low distortion sound. You probably could guess the verdict of this review since the IE 200 is now the lowest-priced among the Sennheiser IE-series. What if I tell you that you guessed wrong? The IE 200 is actually a more balanced sounding earphones compared to the IE 300, which offers prominent bass with sizzling hot treble, the IE 900 refined the treble transparency to the next level while keeping the bass controlled and less bloated. The IE 600 attempts to re-align the sound towards a more balanced, neutral sound and keeping the sound staging a little tighter, so it loses that airiness of the IE 900 but still presents excellent details. Comfort: IE 200 comfort level is the same as all IE Series high end of 300,600 & 900. Thanks to the R&D Team of Sennheiser for making the IE series more comfortable than ever given by other IEMs.As all our ears are different shapes & size so what I hear as bright or bass heavy -you might hear as dull and Vise-Versa; just something to be mindful of. Conclusion: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Blindly open your wallet for IE 200 this is not going to make your expectations down. it's full meals you have everything to taste. It's very hard for any company to deliver everything in one IEM for a small price. Kudos to Sennheiser and the team for coming up with IE 200 Series. Again what a beautifully done stage presentation. I was wishing for more resolution with this song on the clarity and vocals but a bit of a trade-off with less high frequency energy As we noted before, you can get a subtle bass boost by using the foam tips, but these earphones won't ever come close to the bass-forward signature of most mainstream models. If that's what you're after, look elsewhere.
