One of the most convenient things about owning a Seiko 5 is just how easy it is to find someone that can properly service it. The Seiko SNK809 provides many features including its being durable, reliable, and practical. This makes it a practical option if you’re looking for your first-ever automatic timepiece. With a water resistance of 99ft, you can confidently even go swimming or snorkeling with your automatic without a care in the world.

If this is your first foray into automatic manuals, then there is no better place to begin than this baby. The SNK809 lands somewhere between a classic IWC pilot’s watch and a Hamilton Khaki Field Watch, and borrows some of the best elements of both. Fully lume-filled minute and hour hands If you’re like me, you can spend hours at a time browsing watch forums without a real idea of what you’re looking for. The indices have lumed dots on their outer edge, and their placement on the outside of the dial means there’s room for the date window and a lume dot for better nighttime visibility. Technically, this belong to the tactical watches for military. It may appear very classy but it is largely designed for everyday usage. Alternatively, some might choose a watch model that has a clean, generic design, and also has an affordable price tag. Such watches make a fantastic platform for a variety of different styles of builds.

The Seiko SNK809 features a water resistance of 30m or 3 bar if you prefer reading it that way. 30m water resistance isn’t much, but I don’t expect you’re going to go all out diving with this style of watch.
