A tinctures is made using a base of alcohol, typically with herbs or plant extracts that then release their healing properties. The difference between a tincture and an elixir is that an elixir carries a sweetener, most of the time, honey. Both a tincture and an elixir seek to cure a disease or extend the person’s life. What is a love potion? This has it's place, it's subtle, certainly not a bad smell and certainly not entry level but I feel that considering all the notes it claims, more should be happening. I feel this is true of most EDT's you can buy at the drug store or Sephora, which is why I usually don't. What a beautiful blend this is. This was my signature scent 7 years ago. I think I am on my third bottle. Haven't used it in a long time as my taste (and collection) developed over the years. The fragrance opens amber-warm, sweet and peppery. The sweetness is very boozy, as if you're sniffing a bourbon. As the sweetness slowly fades away (not completely) the woody and spicy notes come into play. It's still peppery. It remains like this throughout the heart. To my experience this is also where the fragrance just dies, as if there's no base. It opens as a fruitchouli.sweet and a little syrupy but not overly sweet or foody.as time passes it becomes more floral and powdery but it's not a too much clean powdery scent on me.it seems to have musky,woody,vanilla,amber base notes which keep it warm and deeper than a usual floral fruity.it becomes a little musky as it dries down but not enough musky to make me love it.all in all I see it as a simple warm and sweet scent with some fruity,powdery,woody,musky facets,not enough to give it a memorable personality but enough to make it pleasant and charming

The projection is subtle to moderate, just a bit stronger for the Edp, but the scents are definiately noticeble and as mentioned before heat activated in both cases. Longevity: I applied them at 5.30 PM. At 12.30 AM the next day I could surprisingly still get the Edp close to skin/1 inch while the Edt was gone. I was really mean to this perfume December 2016. Since then my interests and tastes have changed, I'm actually into powdery musky scents. (I crave vintage scents for the "old" smell) I figure this is a summer test now after sitting in a dark cabinet for over a year. Winter, it's very cold outside and you are inside with the loved ones right by the fireplace sipping on some hot wine just a tip of cinnamon. Chill, calm, peaceful, fulfilled. This is what Potion makes me feel like. This almost feels more like an accord than an actual fleshed-out scent to me. It smells like listening to music with a low pass filter, like all the brightness and higher pitched sounds are muffled out with warm fleece blankets, or like listening to drums with earplugs in; you feel the sound more than you hear it. All the sharp edges of the notes in here are completely smoothed over. There's a puff of cinnamon but its definitely not the spicy red hots variety; This cinnamon has been gently steeped in a glass of warm milk. Theres the faintest little snippet of patchouli, but its the friendliest and absolute most agreeable iteration possible and its used so subtly that you could completely miss it if you weren't looking. Ultimately the cashmere wood seems to be the predominant player here, and it's beige-y fuzziness dominates 99% of the wear time. Update: I had the privilege to test both the Edt and the Edp head to head. The Edp on one wrist and the Edt on the other. One spray each. The first minutes of sharp openings are nothing to be exited about, but when they settle down, the quality shines. The Edp is more powerful and full-bodied for about one hour and a half, as You might expect. Then they are more equal for about five hours. A range of professional grade extra strong fragrances perfect for all home fragrancing and bath and body products including candles, soaps, wax melts, bath bombs, reed diffusers and more.This fragrance i tried some years ago and found it very ugly. Now... after my nose developed a lot more then i expected i can finaly give this fragrace it's right.

Potion is in a way a "good" fragrance in its own category. Potion was in my "most wanted list" for so long. I searched for this fragrance everywhere since it came out, not being able to find it in the USA I bought it online in the international market. I finally received it today and after a very long search and waiting..... well...... it turned out to be a little of a disappointment. A potion maker is called an apothecary. It means “person who prepares and sells drugs and other medicines”. Just like a pharmacist, this word entered English in the 14th century, derives from the Latin apothēca, “storehouse.” Witches and healers also made potions for different purposes. Something made me dig this out and put 1 squirt on my inner elbow/arm. And I liked it! It's still soft, but the next morning (put on at about 9pm the night before) it was still there! And it still had enough character/sillage to recognize it. The next morning I had a powdery musky patchouli. Nothing ever lasts on my bare skin, so this was amazing to me.In Potion- quality meets with style and charm, the blend of the notes layered perfectly with warm spices and smoky woods.Whiff of rose, a shrug of thyme and pepper,faint cinnamon- they are sitting on a rich woody-smoky amber base.Pleasantly sweet and just exactly as spicy, what is turns the scent sufficiently piquant. Potion is an enthralling UNISEX perfume with excellent sillage and longevity.Just simply perfect for autumn due its slightly oriental and creamy elements. A versatile fragrance best suited for fall and winter, Potion is a superb choice for an intimate dinner out or a small gathering around the fire place enjoying good food and good company. Thumbs up. It is true that this doesn't project like a beast or last that long I'd say it lasted about 4-5hours, but it's perfect for an evening event, especially suit and tie. Do go for the Edp since it will probably last longer. That is the main differens here. But if the Etd is what You can find, get it!

Do you want a perfume that smells strictly of vanilla or has a faint whisper of sweetness from a vanilla note? If the vanilla notes in your perfume are in the foundation with eight other base notes, it likely won’t have that strong of a vanilla scent. But on the other hand, if you want to really smell the vanilla, look for a perfume with only a few other notes throughout, one that only includes one or two other base notes, or that includes vanilla in the middle or opening. You can also look for a vanilla perfume that combines a few types of vanilla, like vanilla orchid or vanilla bourbon. Decide on the type I don't think it is very popular so I guess it can be called a hidden gem. Make sure you get your nose on it. Due to the high strength of these fragrances, a little goes a long way! The recommended dosage is 5-10% - we advise testing at 5% & adjusting for personal taste. Therefore, for 1kg of candle wax we would recommend using ~50-100ml of fragrance for brilliant scent throw. Please note: scents are all naturally slightly different strengths, so usage will vary from one fragrance to another and from one wax type to another. We highly recommend testing each oil thoroughly before batch production as results may vary based on individual recipes. DSquared2 Potion is the second men's fragrance (not counting the limited editions) of the Canadian designer duo Dean and Dan Caten or DSquared2. In collaboration with the Italian company ITF, they launched their first men's fragrance He Wood in 2007, followed by the female version She Wood in 2008.Oh, and this is not even REMOTELY similar to the dry, woodiness of Gucci PH1. I suppose one could draw connections to the cinnamon/spice/violet heart of GPH2, but even that's a bit of a stretch.
