But when the team's General Manager vocalizes his blatant disapproval of my promotion to Captain, referring to me as an unapproachable lone wolf with no work-life balance, I can't think of a better way to convince him otherwise than pretending to date my outgoing roommate. I found Mile High to be a stunning portrayal of a sports romance that brings together the beauty of the sport and the depths of love and connection in a truly balanced intimate way that will take you high into the sky of learning the importance of family, self worth and the value of fighting for your romantic mate! Having a fake girlfriend wasn't supposed to be messy but having Indy under my roof and in my bed is complicated, especially when she wants all the romantic parts of life that I could never give her.Stevie (Vee), my sweet girl, reminds me a lot of myself and I think the author wrote it in hopes that some (if not all) women could relate to her. Stevie Shay’s been a flight attendant for years. She thought she’d seen it all, but when her new job lands her on a flight working for the most egotistical and self-righteous diva in the NHL, she starts to second guess everything. Including the promise she made to never hook up with an athlete again…no matter how annoyingly tempting he may be. Growing with not only Zanders but Stevie is insane and makes me love this book so much. The portrayal of mental health in Liz’s book is simply incredible. With all his books, I never wanted them to end. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and see Liz becoming an even more amazing author.

It was a big part of how Stevie sees herself, and seeing Zanders use his therapy techniques to break down her walls and reteach her the importance of self-esteem was the most romantic part of this story.
