This product does an excellent job of repelling dirt and grime, so your chain will stay cleaner for longer periods of time between cleanings. However, some riders find that MotulChainLube doesn’t last as long as other brands before needing to be reapplied. Wax Based Chain Lube If, however, you live somewhere with a drier climate, or are looking for the cleanest and most efficient lubricant possible, then immersive waxing may be for you. Why I wax my chains Plain chains really love a lot of greases, however, for those of you with modern bikes who are using a sealed chain the lubricant serves a much different purpose because the only reason you are lubricating the chain is to stop it from rusting. This can be done by cleaning the entire drivetrain with a degreaser before applying the wax lube. To apply wax lube when the chain is wet, simply put a small amount on each link and then rotate the pedals until all of the links are coated with wax (it’s okay if there’s still some liquid residue). Wipe off any excess with a clean rag before riding.

Such longevity is made for riding in any condition. That is why this product can be used while racing, or just casually riding, in the dirt, or on the street. The product will even protect in the rain by preventing corrosion and repelling water. This can be used on most motorcycle chains including o-rings.Coffee filter papers – useful for cleaning your mineral spirits and degreaser so it can be used again, rather than immediately discarded. You also need to leave enough time before you ride for the wax to completely dry and harden on the chain (overnight, ideally). If you ride in wet conditions the chain will also need to be cleaned, dried and lubricated soon afterwards to prevent corrosion. Immersive waxing This lube contains Teflon particles that help reduce friction and wear on your chain. This lube goes on wet and dries to form a protective film that helps reduce friction and wear. Refresh your slow cooker wax when it gets dirty – refresh the wax in your slow cooker when your waxed chains start to feel oily after fully drying, or no longer resist contaminants as well.
