John Varvatos’ slightly sweeter take on the top notes also allows this fragrance to be more suitable to day wear than Coco Mademoiselle, coming just a little short of that mature structure that Chanel is known for. Because of my fragrance brand loyalty, Mr Frugal has a pretty easy time as far as Birthday, Anniversary and Christmas presents go and I usually have a constant supply of my favourite perfumes.

Another dirt cheap clone that can hold up to the double C’s, this one hits the floral dry down just right while being a more summery, fruity version of Coco Mademoiselle. Transitioning to the heart of the perfume, the composition of jasmine, rose, and patchouli beautifully echoed Coco Mademoiselle’s rich floral scent. Although the base notes deviated slightly from the original, the oakmoss, vanilla, and vetiver melded well to create a warm, alluring finish. Miss Tutu is also slightly less mature, so younger wearers might prefer it to Chanel’s vintage chypre.The bottle design in my opinion, is a little less classic beauty than that of Coco Mademoiselle with a smaller rectangular shape and bow accent. Still, a beautiful bottle to display in a collection and certainly a well-known brand to boast. Miss Frugal, who’s recently discovered a love of perfume, doesn’t have the same brand loyalty when it comes to perfume and she smells different every day thanks to her ever growing collection of fragrances and her unashamed used of my perfumes. It is debatable whether or not Shiseido Zen is an exact dupe of Coco Mademoiselle, but there is no doubt that the two are pretty similar. It’s thanks to her ‘sharing’ of my perfume that I found myself completely out of perfume with two months to go until my Winter top up gift on our Wedding anniversary. 😉 The verdict: Considering I bought this before I even realised it was so similar to its more expensive counterpart I would definitely recommend this one.

The opening holds more white floral than citrus for me, but overall the notes of bergamot do come through and the dry down of patchouli and vetiver are undeniably reminiscent of Coco Mademoiselle.I don’t know about you but I’ve always been pretty loyal when it comes to perfume – I tend to wear Tommy Girl in the Summer and Gucci Rush in the Winter with a bit of Joe Malone Honey Blossom and Nectarine when my budget allows. My verdict? If you enjoy the allure of Coco Mademoiselle but cringe at the price, Dossier’s Woody Oakmoss is worth a shot. It may not be an exact replica, but it captures the essence brilliantly and gets close enough to turn heads.The citrusy top notes are a bit sweeter in this one, but the distinct patchouli base note shines through in Miss Tutu. The dry down settles into a clean white floral, fruity essence that I think better suits the Spring and Autumn months. Despite being on the spicier side than Coco Mademoiselle, Yves Rocher So Elixir holds the same base notes in patchouli but switches out the opening citrus notes of Coco Mademoiselle, with bergamot and pink pepper.
