Vent-Axia has really pushed the boat out with this brand-new model. Aside from shifting up to 39l of damp air per second, this bathroom extractor comes crammed with more sensor tech than any other model on the market. In fact, it has a sensor for everything, even odour. Yes, that’s right, when this clever little air mover detects a nasty smell, it either switches itself on or, if already running, speeds up the fan, returning the bathroom to its original sweet-smelling scent in a thrice. These come in a variety of combinations shown here - each of which are available for both standard voltage and SELV fan models. The model above is for basic on/off switching. Blow off some steam, banish damp and wave goodbye to condensation with our favourite bathroom extractor fans for every budget

The Airflow ICON30 72591601 ventilation fan is suitable for fitting into walls or ceilings in areas such as shower rooms, bathrooms, en-suites and toilets. This ensures that all damp and condensation are completely removed without the need for a large, noisy and power-hungry unit. The largest fan in the range, the 150mm/6” Icon 60 Kitchen unit can also be surface or flush mounted as desired and with an air extraction rate of 260m3/h, the Icon 60 is a perfect stylish addition to any domestic kitchen. Rather than having different models with different operating functions, the Icon fans come in three sizes, the 15, 30 and 60, with each size available as a mains voltage or low voltage SELV configuration and out of the box has a basic on/off operating mode.

Tiling is a breeze with the circular cover flange, reducing the need to 'make good' and one wipe and the cover is clean. The iConstants are IPX5 rated and may therefore be installed anywhere in Zones 1 and 2 of the bathroom, in either the wall or ceiling. The Airflow Icon range is a great looking axial extractor fan which thanks to its eye-catching 'opening iris' shutter, has become a modern design classic. Please note: While the Icon 30 uses 4" inch ducting it does require a 6" hole in the wall or ceiling for flush fitting.

Each fan in the range has a slot to insert a control module of your choosing, including options for pull cord, over-run timer, Humidistat and Passive Infra-red PIR sensor. Model above is for basic on/off switching. Choose an optional control module to upgrade fan for Pullcord, Pull cord with adjustable timer, Humidity, pull cord with timer overrun, motion sensor with timer overrun, Motion sensor/humidity/timer . Don’t forget to add the control module you want. Only low voltage module fits low voltage fans. It/s so iCON easy Applications:

The precise duration of the overrun is normally configured during installation, with most fans offering a range between 30 seconds and 30 minutes. You might as well tend towards the latter end of the scale as the cost is very low: on average, a fan like this uses around 8W. This standard 30 model (72591601) is suitable for installation into zone 3 of the bathroom and offers basic on/off switching. Choose an optional control module to expand the functionality and automation:Pullcord, Timer, Humidity or Motion Sensing options. Finally, if you think you (or anyone else in the house) will forget to turn the fan on, consider a model with a humidity sensor. This automatically activates the fan when the level of moisture in the air exceeds a certain threshold. This sensor may need occasional cleaning, though, or the accumulation of dust or grime will hinder its effectiveness. What about noise? This really is an excellent extractor that uses just 2W of electricity when running continuously and no more than 5W at full pelt. It’s also one of the most attractive models around – the fascia can be used bare or with the included white magnetic cover – and one of the very quietest. With an air extraction rate of 118m3/h, the Icon 30 is perfect for installing in a high use bathroom and meets building regs for utility room installations. Most domestic bathroom extractors attach to a 100mm hole in the outside wall. If you’re replacing a standard-sized extractor fan, this hole will already be present and you should be able to install the new one yourself. Before you remove the old fan, it’s a good idea to take a photo of its wiring for later reference – and make absolutely sure you shut off the mains power before you take the old one’s front housing off. The ICSTT model features an over run timer which keeps the boost setting running for 2 / 15 / 30 / 40 minutes. With an air extraction rate of 76m3/h, it easily surpasses building regulations for bathroom installation.
