The XF10’s autofocus (AF) system is pretty fast and reliable for a compact camera. I wouldn’t use it for shooting sport or action, but it’s fast enough to cope with street photography situations. It can help to shoot with the touch-shutter activated as this allows you to set teh focus point and trip the shutter with one tap on the screen. Lens The flash settings on the Fujifilm XF10 are Auto, Forced Flash, Suppressed Flash, Slow Synchro, Red-eye Reduction Auto, Red-eye Reduction & Like the X100 series, the XF10 has a leaf shutter and fantastic built-in fill-flash. The camera seems to balance the exposure and flash perfectly every time, which is just fantastic! This is something that Fujifilm does better than anybody. A side effect of the leaf shutter is that it is nearly silent, making this camera particularly great for street photography. Just be sure to turn off all the artificial noises that the camera is programmed to make. While it’s possible to shoot 4K (3849 x 2160) video with the XF10, it’s at a paltry 15fps. If you like the Fujifilm Film simulations, then you’d probably really be okay with the JPEG output. But otherwise, the image quality and the editing abilities in Capture One are very good. The headline specification of the XF10 is its sensor. That’s because it’s an APS-C (23.5×15.7mm) format chip. That’s bigger than in most compact cameras. It’s not an X-Trans CMOS sensor like in the Fujifilm X100F, but it has 24.2million effective pixels. Although you can no longer easily find the Fujifilm X70 new, there are plenty of used models out there. The controls are very different, with direct dials for exposure settings and a screen that tilts for easier shooting from the hip. The X70 also allows you to ditch the lens cap in favor of a filter using an adapter, which adds convenience at the expense of a bit of bulk. Like the Ricoh, though, you're getting a previous generation sensor that is noisier, but still has pleasing color rendition.
