About this deal

Ravenguard is just like the Imperial Fists, great for new players and not any big named models. Adeptus Mechanicus – Technoarcheologist The Warhammer Vault is also getting spooky as the lore from Malign Portents is conjured into digital format, alongside White Dwarf 467, from August this year which goes deep on the design of Dominion, as well as rules for frostbitten battles between Hive Fleet Leviathan and the Dark Krakens in Flashpoint Octarius. For the remainder of his abilities, he shares the L ord of the Death Guard aura with most of the other lords, boosting CORE units in melee. This ability will push him to close with your opponent! The Host of the Destroyer Hive has him handing our mortal wounds to nearby enemy units, again encouraging you to close the distance. Finally, his weapon loadout, master-crafter manreaper and blight grenades, make him an effective fighter against both hard and soft targets. Magnus the Red is the 41st Millenium’s premiere big scarlet-skinned chap, at least until his very angry brother turns up. Joining him are 23 of his sons – 20 dusty Rubric Marines and three Exalted Sorcerers living their best arcane life.

Since we’ve chosen a hard way, let’s take our close combat death star. Add Tallyman there. He must be a warlord with the 6 th trait so that to let his guys re-roll everything. Also, take an artifact helmet – this way his aura will become 10 inches. Quite expensive, but effective. It’s hard enough to be stealthy when you’re a nine-foot tall super soldier, but how about the challenge of going covert with not one but two Invictor Tactical Warsuits? If anyone would know how to pull that off, it’s Raven Guard Chapter Master Kayvaan Shrike, who also leads a squad of Reivers, a trio of Eliminators, and a Phobos-armoured Librarian for a total of 17 miniatures ready for an ambush. Adeptus Mechanicus – Technoarcheologist His plaguespewer fires at Heavy 2D6 with auto-hits out to 12 inches. Naturally, it is a plague weapon with a heavy flamer profile. His plague claw hits like a powerfist, but again plague weapon for the win. Finally, the Master of Destruction aura improves the AP of nearby ranged plague weapons by 1 on wound rolls of 6. It makes for a solid buff for all almost all of your heavy and special weapons in CORE units. Lord of Contagion From one group of self-involved egotists to another, it’s the pointy-helmed Aelves of Hysh. This insufferably well-oiled Vanari Shining Host focuses on the Tyrionic half of the Realm-lords’ martial forces, bringing 23 models of archers, spearmen, and cavalry to bear with gleaming precision. Five speedy Pteraxii, five stealthy Ruststalkers, and three Serberys Raiders make up the core of this battleforce, supported by the Ironstrider Ballistarii’s powerful cognis lascannons. Behind them marches a unit of 10 Skitarii Rangers and their Tech-priest Manipulus commander, ready to examine whatever it is that the Talon has recovered.

Space Marines – Interdiction Force

Ah, the Lord of Contagion. He’s a common figure on the tabletop as this was the commander from the Dark Imperium set and nearly everyone had a model. You may still find him second hand, but GW does not have him available for sale. The Knights box is a little more flexible and a pretty good buy, as the models are generic enough to want multiples. Battleforce: Thousand Sons – Court of The Crimson King

Death Guard - The Outpost Death Guard - The Outpost

The Plaguefester Warband is the definitive image of an unstoppable Death Guard army, with a Champion and Icon Bearer leading seven Plague Marines and three Deathshroud Terminators. Three Myphitic Blight-haulers and a Plagueburst Crawler cover their march, crushing resistance with the hellish firepower these war engines are feared for.The quest to save Ulfenkarn comes to an end with the final expansion for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. Nightwars will bring your heroes’ gruelling journey to a close with new quests, new enemies, and new ways to use your Soulblight Gravelords collection. You’ll need the previous expansion, and the required miniatures to play.

The Raven Guard favour lightning strikes, and therefore make extensive use of the streamlined Phobos armour – perfect for grabbing the last turkey and making a swift getaway. Chapter Master Kayvaan Shrike leads this strike force from the front, supported by a Librarian in Phobos Armour . Somehow, it’s happened again – Christmas is nearly here. It’s time for the greatest gift possible – Yuletide cheer and festive spirit. Or even better, massive Battleforce boxes full of Warhammer 40,000 goodies.Overwhelm your opponent with the explosive might of the Space Marines. This is a Battleforce that hits hard and fast thanks to a Storm Speeder and 29 Primaris Space Marines, including some fairly chunky Gravis-armoured battle brothers. While cheap, this Chaos Lord does not have a dedicated model at this time. The Plague Marine Champion from the Chosen of Mortation set makes an adequate proxy. You might also find him second hand from the 8th ed Dark Imperium set. With this model, you’d go with power fist and balesword / power sword as his armament. Decorate your hearth with bolter, melta, and flamer, for this box has ‘em all and more. Along with a Sister Dogmata and a squad each of Battle Sisters and Celestian Sacresants, this force also includes two giant tanks that will definitely add a little spice to your holiday carnage.

Battleforce a good starting point for Death Guard? Is the new Battleforce a good starting point for Death Guard?

While possessing the same number of Psychic powers and manifestations as the Malignant Plaguecaster, the Sorcerer in Terminator Armor feels like a bit of a letdown. Probably because he loses Pestilential Fallout in exchange for increased shooting, fighting, and cost. He’d make a good support unit for a Teleport Strike.Like the T Sons, the Death Guard have their Primarch with them! Which is great for new players but might be a negative for anyone who already started getting models. Battleforce: Adepta Sororitas – Sanctorum Guard Our next section takes us away from the power driven Lords of the Death Guard. Now we get to add some warp spawned madness to list with a pair of psychers to fill the rest of our Death Guard HQ slots. Malignant Plaguecaster This box includes a host of Plague Marines and Deathshroud Bodyguard, accompanied by daemon-touched war machines – three Myphitic Blight-haulers and a Plagueburst Crawler – all able to withstand a huge amount of punishment before crashing into the enemy lines in an inexorable wave of stench and decay. For just a morsel of Gotrek action from the World-that-Was, Orcslayer by Nathan Long provides just that. After 20 years of exploring strange new lands, Gotrek and Felix return to the Old World, and an ancient path leads the pair to a dwarf prince who wants to reclaim his kingdom from hordes of Greenskins. Including a whole carnival of weird and wonderful technological enhancements, this immensely customisable box can be built in so many different ways that it would be almost impossible to list them all. Including some trusty Skitarii infantry led by a Tech-Priest Manipulus, there are four units with two build options each – Sicarians, Serberys cavalry, Ptreraxii jump infantry, and a choice of either an Ironstrider Ballistarius or a Sydonian Dragoon. The possibilities are endless.
