About this deal

While I had some definite issues with this novel it ended up being surprisingly compelling all the same. It starts out seeming like an ordinary student life story at a prestigious school. However, there are hints here and there that something is off. It’s not until the middle of the book that the truth behind what’s going on at the school is revealed. Realistic Fiction SYSTEM MYSTERY DARK SLICEOFLIFE ANIME CAMPUS GENIUS HIGHIQ LIGHTNOVEL CLASSROOM OF THE ELITE After school, Kiyotaka is summoned to the staff room over the loudspeaker by Chabashira. He heads to the staff room, where he meets Chie Hoshinomiya instead. She flirts with him for a bit before being interrupted by Chabashira. She requests that the two of them move to the guidance room, but they are followed by her. It is only after Honami Ichinose comes looking for Chie that the two are left alone and arrive at the guidance room. Chabashira has Kiyotaka stay in the kitchen attached to the guidance room and tells him to stay silent with a threat of expulsion if he doesn't comply. After lunch, the swimming class begins, but some of the girls of the class foil Ike and Yamauchi's plan to rank their breast sizes because they are nervous around aggressive boys. Horikita shows up and banters with Kiyotaka for a bit. She notices Kiyotaka's fit body and asks if he works out at all, to which he denies, stating that it is due to genetics. Kushida shows up and tries to start speaking with Horikita, but is coldly rejected. The teacher starts the swimming class and eventually instructs the class to compete with each other in a 50m freestyle separated by gender.

However, it’s not one sided. One of the teachers comes onto Ayanokouji at one point and makes obvious innuendo. I’m not sure if the point of that was for entertainment or to play into the growing, underlying threat that both the teachers and school atmosphere itself present to the students who have just recently learned the truth.

Chabashira reveals that the students are placed into each of the classes is based on their merits, with the best students being placed into Class A and the defective ones being placed into Class D. These points are also explained to be the basis for ranking the performance of the classes. A week before the midterm exams begin, Kiyotaka and Horikita begin brainstorming on how to get the Idiot Trio to study for the midterms once again. Kiyotaka invites Kushida to join them for lunch so that the three can discuss things. At Pallet, they once again request for Kushida's assistance with helping them, to which Kushida happily agrees once again. She invites the Idiot Trio to join her at Pallet. After they arrive, Horikita asks them if they would join her study group once more. They all show their distaste for studying and plan on cramming, especially Sudō, who wants to prioritize basketball. Horikita explains the plan that they made to get them to study while also not using their free time, which consists of spending their time during class to memorize and study questions, and then to use the time in between the periods to personally teach them whatever they had issues understanding. They only agree to the plan after Kiyotaka gets Kushida to offer the person who gets the highest score the permission to take her out on a date.A spin-off manga illustrated by Sakagaki and centered around the character Suzune Horikita was serialized in Monthly Comic Alive from June 2017 to May 2018. Its chapters were collected in two tankōbon volumes. [79] At Anime Expo 2022, Seven Seas Entertainment announced that they licensed the spin-off for English publication. [80] No. During lunch, Kiyotaka joins with Sudō, Ike, and Yamauchi as they talk about which girls they liked. They prod Kiyotaka about his relationship with Horikita, to which Kiyotaka denies being in one. They continue speaking about relationships for a while until the conversation turns to their monthly point balances. The majority of the group have already blown through most of their points and are excited to get a refill for the next month. Kiyotaka goes to a vending machine and noticed the selection option for free water, which causes Yamauchi to remark that the cafeteria had free meal options. Kiyotaka recalls seeing many upperclassmen partaking in the free meals, to which Yamauchi replies that it was probably due to having no money at the end of the month. Once again, Kiyotaka thinks that there is something amiss about the school, but is distracted away from thinking further once again. in Japanese). Media Factory. An unnamed person speaks to the reader of the novel, asking them to think about the state of society. They then talk about equality in society, concluding in the end that equality does not exist. They go on to refer to a famous passage which states that learning creates imbalances in equality, emphasizing that the teaching remains the same, albeit in a more complex situation, in the modern era. Finally, the unknown person then speaks to the reader again, asking if they have given thought to the future. They finish by referencing their own experience from when they were in high school. Kōdo Ikusei Senior High School, a leading prestigious school with state-of-the-art facilities where nearly 100% of students go on to university or find employment. The students there have the freedom to wear any hairstyle and bring any personal effects they desire. Kōdo Ikusei is a paradise-like school, but the truth is that only the most superior of students receive favorable treatment. I really enjoyed this book. Or, rather, I really enjoyed the second half of the book. Honestly, I’d like to give this light novel a high score, but the first half weighed it down too much. It’s not the first half was bad per se. It just didn’t have anything extraordinary or innovative that made it stand out (minus the prologue). Plus, the fan service or similar tropes felt recycled. But once you get to the halfway mark, the novel gets much better. As someone who hasn’t watched the anime, I am excited to see what is going to happen in the next volume and hope it stays interesting. Kushida proposes the idea of having Kiyotaka invite Horikita to Pallet, a very popular cafe on campus, where they would then "unexpectedly" run into Kushida. Kiyotaka suggests that they enlist the help of Kushida's various friends to make the encounter more believable, to which she agrees. After class, Kiyotaka invites Horikita to go to Pallet with him after school, and after some convincing, she agrees to go with him. Classroom of the Elite (Light Novel) Vol. 8". Seven Seas Entertainment . Retrieved February 16, 2022.Kiyotaka attempts to get the three to join Horikita's study group, to no avail due to them not taking the situation seriously and the effort that studying would require. Now out of options, he gets the idea to ask Kushida for help with getting the three of them to join the study group. Ciara Wilson is a high school student living with her parents in New York City. A nineteen year old pretty student, who have withdraw deeply into her quiet world because of how often she is been bullied by others in the school with the excuse of been a weirdo. I also do not own the pictures and illustrations that I will be using in the story. All credits go to the original Artist.

Even so I found myself curious to see what would happen next and how this misfit class would find its way to work together once the reality of the school set in. As I opened my eyes again, I was in the place again. Every time a soul passes through me, my subconscious comes along with it. I don't know what kind of a place this is, but what I can say is that I don't like this place. Because aside from a lot of scary human souls, there were also different creatures lurking around as well, and each soul passed through me, making my time inside this place longer and longer. But I was only spending about ten minutes right now. But what I was scared of the most was if the time would come that I would stay here forever. in Japanese). Media Factory.
