I loved how the hero and heroine definitely had attraction from the beginning, but there was no insta-lust or insta-love. Despite it being quite the slow burn, the entire novel still felt very romantic, it was a big part of the story and the internal conflict of the characters aside from the problems they were dealing with externally together. The chemistry between the MMC and FMC was lovely, and their growing affection was totally believable and realistic. There is some satisfying steam (explicit, not FTB), and I've been lead to believe there will be even more in the upcoming book(s). I think it wasn't bad per say, I've just outgrown this type of books, I would have enjoyed it more if we were still in 2013/2014 but yeah no, a case of "it's not you it's me" I guess. The banter between them OH MY😩 This is one of my favorite romances ever. The romance was drawn out perfectly, it’s very slow burn but SO rewarding. The chemistry between Loren and Darien is is off the charts, it had me fanning myself. They just deserve happiness and must be protected at all costs.Both Darien and Loren are flawed but you love them anyway and are rooting for them the entire book. The book is written in dual POV which provided depth to both of the characters and made them very multi-dimensional. This book includes dual POV so it follows Loren and Darien's POVs and it really helped me dive into them and I appreciate that so much because it offered me a better insight into them as characters who have different layers to them.
