About this deal

This is a charming story about the de la Rosas, a Filipino Family living in the Washington, DC area and their Wedding Planning business. The story revolves around the three sisters Marisol, Janelyn and Pearl. Their parents just announced their retirement, and the three sisters are left to manage the business, to handle the day to day challenges, and to ensure the business stays afloat and thrive. That means, managing the bridezillas, the over controlling families and whatever surprises that may come along. Campano, Leah (August 25, 2022). Happy Ever After: Escaping The Myth of The Perfect Life

This is not to suggest that Dolan is simply playing to a ‘progressive’ gallery. One of the narratives he has in his sights is that why people give to charity is more important than that they do. Another is that we should prioritize our health above anything else. Instead, Dolan rightly sees that there are trade offs, that extra health is bought at a cost, say, never pigging out on ice cream ever again. That cost, too, brings benefits (if you like ice cream), so all a fixation on health means is trading one set of benefits for another. In the context of Covid-19 and policy making, this is admirably brave. the plot was HILARIOUS. not laughing-out-loud-and-then-awkwardly-stopping-because-people-are-staring hilarious, but funny enough that i screenshotted parts to bait my friends into reading this with me (none have joined me as of yet but i refuse to give up). the plot was based around a seemingly simple concept, however, the hijinks, mishaps, and chaotic clownery are what really made it so memorable. As soon as I saw So This Is Ever After, I knew that I had to read it. The book was marketed as “Carry On meets Arthurian legend,” and if there’s one book people can name drop that will get me to read something, it’s Carry On. I will say, because of that comparison, I kind of assumed this would be an enemies to lovers story. I even read the synopsis, but clearly I wasn’t paying much attention, because that should have dissuaded that notion. However! I was so excited to find out that this was not an enemies to lovers but a friends to lovers story! If there’s one thing I enjoy more than the former trope, it's the latter. I know that’s probably an unpopular opinion, but that’s how it is for me. So, imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered that Arek had been secretly pining over Matt for a long time. And it was so obvious (to everyone but Arek that is) that Matt returned his feelings. I was sold instantly.

Happily Ever After Book Box – May 2021

This one wasn't really that special in my book but I think if you go into it with the mindset its' more of a family dynamic book than a romance you may enjoy it more :). Eloise Bridgerton is played by Claudia Jessie in the Netflix series. Marina Thompson is played by Ruby Barker and Phillip Crane by Chris Fulton.

BOOK RIOT If It Doesn’t Have an HEA (or HFN), It’s Not - BOOK RIOT

so this is ever after, however, completely omits the 'adventure' that occurred and which brought all of the main characters together, choosing to instead give snippets of recollections of their adventures together occasionally throughout the book. it takes the epilogue, showing all of the characters happy and successful, and builds on it instead, telling us about what it took to get there, and i adored that. Together the de la Rosa sisters must work to figure out their place in the world and within their family, all the while trying to save the family business. I almost wrote the bonus story about a Bridgerton descendent (instead of about Violet.) I must confess to a wild curiosity about what those Bridgertons were doing during World War II.Arek es quien va narrando la historia en primera persona desde que logró, con mucho esfuerzo, cortar la cabeza del Malvado. Resultó divertido, sí, un poco cansador en un punto porque se sentía como un continuo dar vueltas en lo mismo. i loved the concept that this book was centered around. usually fantasy novels of this sort show the process of the main character/Chosen One™ and their lovable allies going on adventures that ultimately culminate in defeating the antagonist and living 'happily ever after'. the end, and the story is over.
