About this deal

Don't take Beechams max strength all in one if you're taking any of the following medicines, because the combination may increase your blood pressure: Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products. Do not take with other flu, cold or decongestant products.

Dosage: Adults and children aged 16 years and over: One sachet to be taken every four hours, if necessary, up to a maximum of six sachets in 24 hours. Do not take continuously for more than 7 days without medical advice. Do not give to children under 16 years of age except on medical advice. Indications: Relief of sinus pain and the symptoms of colds and influenza, including fatigue and drowsiness. Warnings and precautions: Patients should be advised not to take other paracetamol-containing or any other cold, flu or decongestant products concurrently. Care is advised in the administration of paracetamol to patients with severe renal or severe hepatic impairment. Medical advice should be sought before taking this product in patients with: glutathione depletion due to metabolic deficiencies or occlusive vascular disease. Use in caution in patients taking digoxin, cardiac glycosides and ergot alkaloids. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine. Contains 3.8g sucrose per dose. Caution in patients with diabetes. Contains source of phenylalanine. May be harmful for people with phenylketonuria. Contains 135mg sodium per dose. Medical advice should be sought if symptoms worsen, persist for more than 7 days or are accompanied by high fever, skin rash or persistent headache. Concomitant use of other paracetamol-containing products should be avoided. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.Get immediate medical advice if you or someone you know takes too much paracetamol, even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage. Paracetamol is thought to relieve pain by reducing the production of prostaglandins in the brain and spinal cord. It works to bring down a fever by affecting an area of the brain that regulates our body temperature (the hypothalamic heat-regulating center). This stops you feeling hot or shivery. Risk factors: If the patient a, Is on long term treatment with carbamazepine, phenobarbitone, phenytoin, primidone, rifampicin, St John's Wort or other drugs that induce liver enzymes. Nervousness, irritability, restlessness, excitability, headache, dizziness, insomnia, increased blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort. Dysuria and urinary retention.

Signs of liver problems like dark urine, feeling tired, not hungry, upset stomach or stomach pain, light-colored stools, throwing up, or Treatment with activated charcoal should be considered if the overdose has been taken within 1 hour. Plasma paracetamol concentration should be measured at 4 hours or later after ingestion (earlier concentrations are unreliable). Treatment with N-acetylcysteine may be used up to 24 hours after ingestion of paracetamol, however, the maximum protective effect is obtained up to 8 hours post-ingestion. The effectiveness of the antidote declines sharply after this time. If required the patient should be given intravenous N-acetylcysteine, in line with the established dosage schedule. If vomiting is not a problem, oral methionine may be a suitable alternative for remote areas, outside hospital. Management of patients who present with serious hepatic dysfunction beyond 24h from ingestion should be discussed with the NPIS or a liver unit. Beechams All-in-One and Beechams All-In-One Tablets (paracetamol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine hydrochloride). If you're taking medicines for high blood pressure you shouldn't take Beechams max strength all in one, because the decongestant may make your blood pressure medicine less effective.
