About this deal

Over time water will build up in your tank. If you have no way of removing it, the water will suddenly spray out of your airbrush. Not cool man! Output from the regulator is a standard 1/8 BSP connector to fit most airbrush air-lines, which is an improvement of many compressors that have a 1/4 BSP fitting and hence require an additional adaptor to fit the airline. The second type is direct, basically the motor compresses the air, and pushes it straight down the hose to your airbrush at your chosen pressure. That motor is running whenever you’re spraying, and the air pressure is controlled by a regulator. This is a device in the setup that makes sure the air pressure stays at the psi you set it at for the task at hand.

It appears that some of these compressors shipped to the UK are fitted with a 13 amp fuse in the plug. This really depends on how much noise is a problem for you, but getting a compressor that does not make as much noise as a jet engine is a good idea for most people. Very crappy ones will tend to get noisier. An AS186 is not noiseless, but it is bearable because it only fills up the tank when it is needed. 6. Make sure it fits Scottish Islands: All postcodes containing KW / HS1-HS9 / IV41-IV49 / IV51 / IV55-IV56 / KA27-KA28 / PA20- PA80 / PH4-PH50 / ZE1-ZE3

It will allow you to hook up two airbrushes at once. This is nice if you change between a big and a small version a lot, but other then that it is not super relevant. But it as an amazing compressor, but the price is also set accordingly. Looking for and Airbrush with that? The compressor is less important than the airbrush, but I recommend not saving here. A version of the AS186 will not cost you super much, but any cheaper and you will get either: something that breaks down, does not have good enough air pressure or that is very noisy. 2. A tank and auto on/off body art, nail art, temporary tattoo work, custom car spraying art & murals, motorcycle tanks, helmets, military, scale model spraying, At last I can now set the required air pressure accurately, the regulator on the old compressor was pretty temperamental, showing 1 bar when switched off and a max of just over 2 bar when running, so no idea as to what pressure I was actually using, but after 30 years use I guess it was due for retirement.

In short your compressor's horsepower rating is a measurement of the power of the compressors motor. Most small airbrush compressors will usuallyrange from 1/6 to 1/4 horsepower. This information is usually found in your compressor's manual. Another advantage of AS -186A is it's low noise output, so it can be used in the evening at home. Thanks to its low weight it can also be used as a portable hobby compressor. So get a compressor with a water trap. It is the small plastic thing on the left of the compressor on the image above. 4. A way to regulate air pressure (PSI) and enough air power to airbrush miniatures A collar on the drain tube on the bottom of the regulator can be lifted to release the air pressure from the tank and drain any condensate from the regulator water-trap.

Another advantage of AS -186 is it's low noise output, so it can be used in the evening at home. Thanks to its low weight it can also be used as a portable hobby compressor. Regulating the PSI of the compressor is a must for painting miniatures. You should get one that can go in the 10-40 PSI range. This will be the range you will most likely need for painting miniatures with it. An AS186 will be sufficient for this. 5. Low volume of noise The underside of the tank has a brass screw-in stopper to allow the tank to be drained of any condensate. The tank also has a safety pressure valve.

If less noise is very important, you should go with a Paasche D3000R Compressor. It is actually just a more expensive version of a generic AS186, but quite a bit silent and more sturdy. It took about 10 secs for the pressure to drop - this was with the air pressure regulator set to maximum which is much higher than would normally be used. With the airbrush switched off it took about 27 secs for the tank to recharge to full pressure. This compressor is suitable for commercial spraying, cosmetics, nail studios and Tattoo designs, illustrations, hobbies and modelling. If the compressor does not have a place to store the air, it will have to make it on demand when you pull the trigger of the brush. This means it will make noise constantly while painting! Also, the pressure will slowly drop, making it less consistent in spray pattern. Not what you want at all.
