Why would you need an active cable if the required length is less than 8m? No active cable would ever be certified by HDMI org. HDMI org do not sanction any cable or device that draws power from the interface. Each category has sub-categories based on additional features like an Ethernet channel built into the cable or a stronger signal for automotive use, but you only really need to worry about the main label. Slim cables are at the edge of reliability at 3 meters , active circuitry could help , but if you dont have the room for a standard cable I'm assuming you dont have the room for a 5v power supply, and any active circuitry without its own power supply is no improvement in the vast majority of cases.
