As you approach 40cm of the bin, the infrared sensor will detect movement and raise the bin lid, ready to accept your disposal items. The lid will close again after 5 seconds of inactivity. Some colours are more expensive than others, so be sure to factor that into your buying decision. It requires 4 x ‘AA’ batteries to operate, and the stainless-steel body has a non-corrosive coating.
