About this deal

Misfits helped me to stay away from the regular chocolates full of sugar. I've been addicted to sugar since young age. Not anymore. I appreciate as a company you have your eyes fixed on America right now, but don't forget your loyal customers who got you there. However, the cinnamon tells a different story. In fact, the cinnamon flavor of this cereal is one of the most potent smelling and tasting cereals I’ve ever experienced. As other people have commented, these are the worst protein bars I’ve ever tasted. Last year a friend gave me a box because she hated them, I tried one and they immediately went in the bin. Recently tried one of their new wafer bars to see if they had improved but unfortunately still have that horrible chemical taste and chalky texture. There’s much better brands out there.

VEGAN, NATURAL AND GLUTEN FREE - This cereal is certified by the vegan society. Dairy free, gluten free and completely natural. Misfits are proudly carbon neutral and we are palm oil free. Helping you find your inner feel good. However, trying this cereal dry was very disappointing. Yes, you taste some chocolate, but it’s closer to the flavor of chocolate protein powder than it is actual cocoa powder.Unfortunately, my excitement immediately disappeared when I took my first bite of this Misfits protein bar. Misfits co-founder Henry Sether said the NPD and rebrand would “widen our brand appeal and allow us to branch out into more categories and territories, cementing ourselves as a leading innovator in the plant-based functional food space across the globe”.

This chocolate caramel bar had me excited that there would be a pleasing caramel layer in this one, but it turns out that it actually had the least amount of caramel of any of the bars I tried. When you open the box, it smells like you just stepped into a bakery where all they bake are chocolate donuts topped with chocolate frosting. With 150 calories per serving along with 14g of protein, it’s the highest protein plant-based cereal I’ve come across. Traditional breakfast cereals tend to be loaded with sugar and are low in both fibre and protein, a combination that will send you on a blood sugar rollercoaster. Instead, look for a cereal that is high in protein, low in sugar and rich in fibre – these are the three macronutrients to be looking for. Bonus points if you can find a cereal that contains lots of nuts and seeds, which add additional protein and fats to create a more balanced meal.” – Clarissa Steer Clear Of Sweeteners For someone like me - diabetic so naturally low refined carb, higher protein and higher fat is the way to go

However, the overall flavors just fall short for me, but some are certainly better than others. I wasn’t able to try every flavor, but of the flavors I tried, I’d recommend Dark Chocolate Brownie and Chocolate Hazelnut above the others. An overwhelming number of food products that claim to be healthy are made with artificial sweeteners – this means brands can make claims about a cereal being low-sugar whilst still tasting sweet. However, regular consumption of artificial sweeteners has been linked to changes in the gut microbiome and they are something I advise my clients to actively avoid. At the same time, look out for real sugar on an ingredients label, which can be disguised as cane juice, dextrose, isoglucose, jaggery, maltose and barley malt.” – Clarissa Watch Out For Wheat Misfits launched its Protein Cereal in two flavors, Chocolate and Chocolate Cinnamon, which we snapped up following their launch to see how they measure up against the many other high-protein cereals on the market. There is a growing mountain of functional products in the cereal format, and many of them are incredibly on point and enjoyable, so Misfits Protein Cereal has its work cut out for it. Review Being 100% vegan, low sugar, and high protein, I have to admit that my expectations for the cereal going into this review were extremely low.

A perfect example is Barebells: I absolutely love their protein bars ( Fulfil bars are extremely similar) but the plant-based Barebells protein bars really fell short for me.

Based on the photos, I just couldn’t help myself. I mean, you look at the below product photo and try to tell me that it’s not one of the most delicious-looking protein bars you’ve ever seen: us.misfits.health The texture is awesome, and the big cookie pieces on top are a great addition, but that flavor is just too strong for me to really enjoy it.
